ABBA did not break up because of Agnetha. All 4 were in agreement in ‘pausing’ the band. Bjorn and Benny wanted to concentrate on writing musicals while Frida and Agnetha wanted to do solo work for awhile. After a few years went by, the desire to reunite had diminished in all of them, though Frida was more open to getting back together. Bjorn and Benny are both on record as saying that they thought that everyone would soon forget about ABBA after a few years. They were wrong, of course, but still they believed that ABBA would only be around for a few years at best. In 2000, they were offered $1 billion to get back together for 1 years worth of concerts. They unanimously rejected the offer. In retrospect, they could have offered to do one final concert on pay per view with DVD sales and made almost as much. As it is, they are all content with how things have worked out.

Is this a Agnetha was everything and Frida was nothing documentary? Both ladies have wonderful voices but when they were combined it was ABBA….not just Agnetha!

Utter B/S I saw them live twice - 1976 and 1979 - and Frida was equally as good a singer and much better a performer. Oh and the lead on Fernando was Frida. It was written for Frida's album "Ensam" produced by Benny in 1975. This was prior to ABBA recording it. Agnetha did NOT break up ABBA by "leaving" They were simply sick and tired of each other, much as I am sick and tired of the falsehoods in this stupid article.

Agnetha stayed in the group after splitting from Björn for four full years. Agnetha did not leave ABBA. Nobody left ABBA. They just said they were taking a break which turned into a very long break.. The four group members each own the 'ABBA' name. So nobody could be replaced and nothing ABBA has done is without all four agreeing. This needs to understood and repeated. She did not leave ABBA. None of them did.

@@carol.mincey236 Do you mean time between the marriage collapse and ABBA stopping to work together? Although their divorce only became official in the Summer of 1980, Agnetha and Björn had separated in late 1978. ABBA continued recording and appearing as a group until late 1982

Do your research , folks. Agnetha did *not* sing lead in “Fernando”; Frida did. If this video taught me nothing else, I know know who to properly pronounce Agnetha’s last name.

@@duanenewland6227 One of the two main singers. ABBA released 108 songs, not including foreign versions of the same numbers. . Of these, Agnetha was sole lead vocalist on 24 of them. Anni-Frid was sole lead vocalist on 25 of them. Yes, one more. But I think we can add the unreleased 'Just Like That'' to Agnetha's total to even things up. The biggest proportion though, approximately 40 songs, is where they share the lead vocals and many of these include ABBA's biggest hits. The remainder are where all four sing together, Bjorn or Benny led songs and instrumentals. But the figures show quite clearly that ABBA had two principal vocalists who were on lead for 83% of all the songs, By Agnetha's own admission, Anni-Frid was the more dynamic concert performer. They were both vital, not only individually but to create that incredible joint harmony. Let's put it this way. No ABBA tribute band is ever going to turn up with just one girl.

Even though it was never officially mentioned by the media or the members of Abba, I am of the opinion that Agnetha did not want Abba to come back and that was the reason why this supergroup never came back. You can see many videos on KZbin where Frida, Benny and Björn meet and give interviews together. The three of them flew to Germany and England and participated in the TV shows and Agnetha was always missing. This proves something. On the other hand, I can understand Agnetha. In the final phase of Abba she had to bravely endure the presence of Bjorn's new love and continue smiling for the cameras. It must have been a tragedy and a great mental burden for her.

Tiene que comprender que la más sensible del grupo era Agnetha. Frida? Frida abandono sus hijos por la música. Cuando su hija se murió en un accidente ella calló en depresión. Y la hija de Agnetha se me parece al padre. Insensible como él que le importaba más ABBA que sus hijos. La hija de ellos se atrevió a culpar a Agnetha por su abandono cuando era pequeña. Sin embargo, esa fue una de las razones del divorcio. Agnetha no quería estar lejos de sus hijos.

La información de este vídeo causa polémica por que no creo nada de lo que se dice . De acuerdo con otras entrevistas incluso documentales biografícos del Grupo, la historia la cuentan diferente. 1. Agnetha fue la voz principal en todas las canciones. 2. Jamás el grupo dependió de ella, hicieron giras e entrevistas juntos y es allí donde Agnetha le costó trabajo coordinarse al grupo y aún así ella cumplió viajando por su lado . 3. Eran un equipo y por lo tanto se apoyaban y sobre todo se nota que se adaptaban a los cambios emocionales de Agnetha, fue una montaña rusa de emociones que vivieron por las complejidades del carácter de Agnetha . 3. Agnetha con su presencia y voz emanaba brillo exterior, sin embargo sus problemas internos e insegurdades se dejaron ver en muchas presentaciones, entrevistas, incluso en sus movimientos se notaba la falta de seguridad en ella pero la salvaba su voz y su gran físico era hermosa y nadie lo niega. 3. Frida fue igual que Agnetha importante en el grupo su voz hizo la armonía perfecta en ABBA, y su presencia fresca y carismática fue esencial para equilibrar lo que Agnetha no podía dar. 4. Yo creo que el final de ABBA fue en el momento justo y preciso, lo que hicieron fue tan grande y maravilloso que ahora podemos disfrutar su legado musical de los 4 ABBA. 5. Parece una historia armada por una IA. Dice cualquier cosa. Enseguida te das cuenta que es un invento cuando dice que ella decidía en qué dirección debían hacerse las composiciones, cuando todos sabemos que los autores y líderes en ese aspecto eran Benny y Björn. Ella compuso algo, si, y se la vió opinando en algunos videos de grabaciones, pero no al nivel que se menciona acá.

Right: was a TEAM effort..Frida played a key part in Fernando as well, perhaps more so..this is so biased and unbalanced..BJorn and Benny genius composers and musicians...taking nothing away from Agnetha, but Frida had pretty impressive vocal range and emotional depth as well..these 4 (four!) gave musical world joy and music that will now be forever remembered and never paralleled..things happen, and painful and too public divorces changed everything, sadly, but to put the "blame" on Agnetha is very unfair, as well..ridiculous, actually..we owe them ALL better than that..today, they are beautifully mature and happy individuals who make occasional appearances at premieres of a certain fantastically successful contemporary phenomenon and engage and interact "as old friends do..." Thank you, Agnetha, Frida, Bjorn and Benny...❤
