Calm before the storm. A few days before the passing of hurricane Tammy Superyacht AMARYLLIS arrived in St. Maarten. The center of hurricane Tammy after crossing our neighbors in the south, in particular Barbuda, had been passing only 65 miles east of us. We have been lucky to experience a compact system in its 3rd and 4th quadrants with nothing big to report. The yacht spent the time docked in the Simpson Bay lagoon also for shelter.
At the time of her delivery in 2011, Superyacht AMARYLLIS was the fourth longest yacht so far ever left the shed of German yacht and shipbuilder Abeking & Rasmussen. The other three units (B2, TITAN, and EMINENCE) are all within a 2 to 7-meter (after later hull extension) range longer. These units can be considered in a wider context as sisters.
The 2,108 GT vessel with a beam of 12.4m and a max draught of 3.45m has been completely designed by British designers Reymond Langton based in Poole/UK.
Before the release of this video (11/2023) the yacht had been listed for sale at an asking price of EUR 89.9 mill.
More information on AMARYLLIS shall follow in a separate video in the near future.
