You know all gloves need to come off once Lyle smashed the garden gnome. As a German, I can confirm smashing cute garden gnomes is inexcusable serious business.

My husband is of German descent. One day, he was ready to throw hands when his brother was visiting. They got into an argument, and in anger, my brother-in-law picked up one of our Hummels and threw it against the wall, shattering it. That Hummel was well over 60 years old and has been passed down in the family.

They received their just rewards. What a horrible and vile brother. He ruined his children’s lives!!! I’m glad one of them decided to take responsibility for his life and become drug free. That journey will be hard. With support and love he’ll make something of himself. Wish the family the best. 🎉

Baxter can dish it out but can't take it when he is confronted with his bille that comes out of his mouth. He is a bully. OP did the right thing by standing up to him. Way to go, OP and Timmy❤.

Tell hubby to pack his bags and go live with Baxter . Hubby owes you a giant apology. Tell Baxter he is a failure as a person and a parent. Call those brats out . Now I'll listen to the rest of the story

At least one of the kids in that family didn't end up like his father and brother. He got his self straight and got his first job and was becoming a better person in the end. Best of luck to OP and her family.

This was.... Interesting. I think everyone was partially wrong to a degree. With OP.... She's obviously the most reasonable one. I don't think she did anything wrong by reminding Baxter who he and his kids really were, but I feel like this confrontation should've happened much earlier, and OP, as she admitted, shouldn't have invited Baxter to the party. Timmy.... He eventually stood up to Baxter, but, like OP, he should've done so sooner. Why Timmy never cut off his family is something I can't understand. Yes, maybe back then, Timmy living underneath Baxter made sense, as he was still a child, but with OP, Timmy didn't really need his family anymore. Leonardo is the most interesting one. It's kinda mysterious why he never went out with Lyle to OP's house. He wasn't wrong for being absent, of course, though it's still quite odd. Whatever the reason was, Leonardo did ask the right questions and weighed risk vs. reward properly. I think he knew that rampaging like Lyle would only result in him suffering the same fate as them, and without Baxter as an ATM, Leonardo must've known his time was running out, and that, even if he HADN'T testified against Baxter and Lyle, it'd be almost certain that OP and Timmy would've won the case anyway. Leonardo was smart enough to recognize the situation and act accordingly, and I do hope he gets a better life.

Those are OP's kids and therefore she and Timmy have the final say, as their parents. Baxter had no right to stick his nose into their business. OP did nothing wrong and didn't have to take the crap from Baxter.

Doesn’t anyone put Baxter in his place? If I were his family member I would tell him to shut up when I had parties there would be no alcohol involved. He’s a horrible parent a horrible husband and a horrible brother.

Baxter was the golden child because he was more like his father and grandfather, so to them he could do no wrong even when he was lying in front of the whole family drinking from the bottle while drunk.

NTA, I think OP was too gentle on Baxter. She should have told him to look into a mirror to see why his children and him are human dumpster fires, that's the man looking back at you because he's responsible for all this crap.

I hope Timmy is getting therapy. A large part of being abused is being so used to it it feels normal plus the abuser making them feel like it's their own fault. I think that shows in Timmy not reacting to it until Baxter went after OP that last time. I'm happy that Leonardo managed to pull himself out of the death spiral he was in. With OP and her husbands support and get his GED. Maybe save up and go to college if he wants. In any case he is a much more positive path now.

Well it sounds like Baxter should enjoy spending time with kids. Do they have cells for 3 people? Awe, to bad, figure out how to add another cot in that 10x10 cell.
@jeanannd8 ай бұрын
OP is in the right. OP's BIL is a Spoiled rotten bad child who never grew up and doesn't want to grow up. He abused his brother, ruined his own marriages plural, and children and yet HE claims OP and her husband are the bad ones? NO!!!! She probably should have done more to verbally cut down Baxter. OP's husband is a patsy, he falls for his brothers manipulation and bullying even in adulthood. Baxter should have been given the heave ho as a teen and made to pull his own weight rather then acting as a parasite on the family. At least Leonardo is trying to make something of his life.
@TheDurid17 ай бұрын
20:37 This OP really strikes me as a drama queen who spreads the drama, then honestly wonders why there is so much drama in their life. Never outright lies, but constantly puts their actions in the best light, and will constantly look for and announce reasons they hate specfic people. Not saying Baxter isn't a narcissist, but I give good odds that the OP is as well.
