He might have come home alive but his mind is clearly the causality. PTSD is no joke! No matter how much criticism I have for my government, I always have room in my heart to respect veterans. Especially combat ones. Like this man, nearly all of them have seen and done things no human being should ever experience!
@XrVyNi

I had a psychotic episode 2 years ago (unrelated reasons to the video), and it was the most vulnerable ive ever felt in my life. I could hear all of the people closest to me plotting to set me up for insane fantastical crimes from "behind a 2 way mirror in the room next to me", when in reality i was at the end of a hallway in a hospital an hour from home with no other rooms close by. Even to this day, after being shown proof i was there alone, I still can't fully trust the people who's voices i heard. And im a civillian who has never seen a battleground before. I cant begin to imagine how confused and terrified our troops must have been when they were experiencing psychotic episodes once they got back to their home countries, let alone the fact that some of them actually recovered from it. The amount of respect i have for the troops who fought in the past, are fighting now, and will fight in the future is beyond anything i can put into words. The troops will always have my support, every one of you is somebody to look up to, and that reassimilation to civilian life has been kind to you if you're still in the process of it.

This was Thomas showing his character, through and through. A man should not be punished for having demons, he should be treated with kindness and respect until, or if, he overcomes his demons. He even realised that after an episode, you crash from that adrenaline HARD, and had people help him.

In the show and reality ww1 veterans used alcohol and opium to treat ptsd. At the time medical doctors in Britain and France used electric shock therapy or general anaesthesia as a treatment (ether and chloroform). By 1918 the medical community gradually phased out shock therapy and anesthesia. It wasn't until ww2 that the medical community started recognizing shell shock (ptsd term in ww1) as a legitimate medical issue directly correlated to warfare. The medical community likely struggled to recognize ptsd was a real issue because warfare wasn't as intense before ww1. You can see pictures of thousands upon thousands of spent shell casings from the constant bombardment of trench warfare. They are incredible pictures that show the intensity of the war as there's mountain after mountain of casings from constant shelling. The human mind can't process thousands of mortar rounds exploding around you week after week. This is ww1 is generally considered the worst war in human history. The brutality of shelling and charging through no mans land only to be gunned down by machine gun fire is unlike anything experienced since. WW2 was bad but tactics weren't as insane/stupid as ww1. All that death to gain and lose a couple feet was pure insanity.

Can be connected to your nervous system your adrenaling gland over produced s hormone cause of prolonged stress trauma lack of sleep, traveles upto yout peneal gland in your brain thst cause of inflammation from high blood pressure and overload of hormone the pineal gland produced hormones like dopamine too much snd it can confuse your signal to your brain kills stem cells grows grey matter effecting memory can cause black out sll kind of mixed messages to the third eye your pineal gland yhat effects your eyes and hearing causes you to halucinate etc. Hopefully the doctors nuro surgeon will figure out a way to treat it without sedation drugs onr day. Stem cell therapy but you really need to look after yourself sleep well which most PTSD sufferers struggle. Also seeing a hormone nuro specialist snd check you havnt grown tumour on your gland or immune system hS all been linked to bipolar scitsofrenia and ptsd etc neurological illness
