Thanks so much for all your videos! Another cost to be aware of with home care workers is employment taxes if they are not through their own business or agency. These household employer rules are often referred to as "nanny tax". Many available individuals only want to be paid in cash and don't claim the income. My family was blindsided when my mother came to stay with us during the pandemic and shortly after was diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

Thanks for watching; and for your comment! You raise an important point. I have scattered notes for touching on tax-related topics. It turns out that the overtly financial content isn't doing so well for me. So, I put it on hold. But I may have to bite the bullet and tackle the "nanny tax" (and other matters), if only for the sake of completeness. How is your caregiving coming along? Is it still ongoing? All good wishes!

@@alzheimersproof8211 Hi there! Caregiving is still ongoing for us but the amount is increasing as my mother is progressing further into stage 5. Our in-home caregiving costs are currently more manageable since my mother is living with us but that has its own set of issues. I am a CPA so if you need more info on nanny tax, I’ll be happy to send that to you.
