I dont have a kitten. I have a cat with a uti. Hes refusing to drink the amount of water he needs so I really needed to find how to give him water with a syringe this has helped so much. I can only imagine what kind of pain that cat was in before it died. UTI's are very critical in male cats. You have to pay attention to your cat's litterbox behaviour...If I see one of my cats go in and out of it's litter box more than three times in a day...I'm taking it to the vet. I usually don't see them go to the room the box is in at all, but if they're in and out of there more than a couple of times, time to go to the vet. If you have a ceramic bathtub or sink, and you see what looks like red or pink spots in your bathtub..take it to the vet. They'll pee in a ceramic bathtub because it's cooler than the air around it, and it relieves some of the pain. If you keep your cat's litterbox on a separate floor, guess what? Now I guess they have litter that will tell you if your cat has a UTI.

Two days ago, I rescued these two 4-5 week old kittens after the rest of the litter passed unexpectedly and this is very helpful. The weaker one passed yesterday and I wish I found this sooner, but now that I’ve seen it I’m using this info to keep the other one going until we can get a blood transfusion in the next couple days. I know fluids by themselves won’t save him if he needs blood, but he wasn’t nursing so it’s really helping him right now. Thank you so much. @@KittenSchool they were born with a neurological disorder, I don’t remember what it was called but it was from a bacterial infection. They also had fleas, which is why they needed a blood transfusion. The one who survived is named Garfield. He’s playing and doing so well now. He’s really a miracle kitty lol

I have a kitten who lost so much of weight, he's thin and i think he's dehydrated coz of parasites maybe, im nor sure. So i asked a friend of mine who i think expert with pets, she suggested me to shringe my kitten with 15ml water mix with a teaspoon of sugar and a pinch of salt every 3 hours. Will that really work ? We couldn't afford to go to the vet unfortunately. But we would try our best to help the lil fella. Any experts here agree with that suggestion btw?

I’m starting this care routine on My 5 week old Kitten, Marianne! She’s had diarrhea for about a day now, and due to covid And stores having weird hours, I was just now able to pipette her about 40-50ml of pedialyte. When she wakes up from her nap, we will be mixing baby food and pumpkin together for her. I’m praying she likes it, she’s been a very finicky eater so far. Only 1 survived named Bunbun and I swear to God I will protect him with my life. He's healthy and playful. I've tried everything, electrolyte water, heating pack, took to the vet, diy incubator, and changing to homemade food. Their deaths were devastating I couldn't even concentrate at work.

Does this work for extremely young kittens too? Idk their age but they seem young and are so tiny. They have all their teeth though. I just got both yesterday and they also seem to have I think fleas/lice on them. The smaller one has so much loose stool and diarrhea. Honestly thank you for this recipe. I've been searching for electrolyte solution or Pedialyte and Amazon and Walmart literally only have them buy cases of 30-50. How often should you give it to prevent it like is there a maintenance dosage you recommend just for extra nutrients every now and then?

Hello. I've prepared 2 batches of electrolyte fluids, 1st according to the recepy in the link and 2nd from some google site. Tasted them both ofc, 1st one is very sweet, I can hardly taste the salt and the baking soda, 2nd more salty, a bit weirdish taste. Which one is it suppose to be? The sweeter or the saltier? People drop their unwanted cats off on our farm all the time. Recently one of the drop offs had 8 kittens! Everytime the mom moved them she would leave one or more behind. We would reunite them with her and their litter mates and she seems to be fine with it. Unfortunately they were outside and not completely sheltered when we were hit by a torrential downpour. One of the kittens got out of the area the mom had them and was in the rain for an unknown amount of time. My brother just happened to hear it crying after the rain slowed down. He picked it up and put it back with its mama. The next morning the mother had moved them onto our back porch under some stuff. Once again she had left one behind. My brother moved it to be with the rest, but an hour later it was laying separate from the others and very lethargic. We brought it into the house and warmed it up with a heating pad and dripped some kitten formula into its mouth. After about 30 minutes it started to perk up. Then it pooped some really hard dry stool. We are keeping it warm and feeding it with an eye dropper, because the nipples on these kitten bottles are to firm for it to suckle. We stimulated and it peed, hard to tell color of pee because it's pooping real runny reddish brown poo at same time. We have bottle fed kittens before, some from an even younger age than this one. This litter is about 2wks old. This little thing is the runt of the litter, so it already had it hard, having to fight 7 siblings for a nipple. Just wish we had stepped in sooner and removed a couple to bottle feed. It's such a large litter for one mama, and we had bought milk replacer knowing we may need it. If it's a boy, and if we keep him we plan to name it after one of the Lost Boys. Don't have a name for it if it's a girl. Any suggestions?

Hi Rachel! How sweet of you and your brother to rescue this tiny kitten. It was very lucky that you found it and are giving it so much love and attention. And you are right, sometimes when a momma cat has a large litter it can be overwhelming for her to care for them, especially when she's also trying to move them around to keep them safe. I love the Lost Boys movie! I actually have been to Santa Cruz, California, the seaside town where it was filmed, and we rode on the wooden roller coaster. If it's a girl, why not name her Star? That was the name of the girl in the movie who fell in love with one of the Lost Boys. Keep my posted on how the kitten is doing!

And was prescribed Albon Then I requested a stool sample of a kitten that tested negative for coccydia sent to a lab 🔬- cryptosporidium! I can not Believe it .. . I’m at a loss too . The kitten is on azithromycin for 60 days to try to combat the diarrhea. Today ,his diarrhea is full on water .. I end up raising them bec moms will not care for sick kittens . All my Himalayan’s will be fixed now . And I can’t sell , nor give my cats away . My dreams of breeding Himalayan’s is gone now . It’s costly to care for so many . But I have little choice . Oh I am so, so sorry about your kitty! It sounds like your cat might have internal wounds from the attack and these are very hard to treat, even with surgery. I think sometimes it's best to have a cat who is not able to be saved out of their misery. This is a tough decision. My heart is with you.

I am giving him Hi-Vite a multivitamin in liquid form. I see a little improvement. I need to start a diary on all this.. keep track of possible improvement. Today he seems healthier, he had gotten very thin quickly. My main issue right now is he pees himself. I wipe him with wet paper towels. I make a mix of warm water and a drop of my own shampoo... then i hairdry him. I have no idea if what Im doing is good. Ive gotten those pee pads dog diapers. But he still gets dirty. So the first vet said theres two kinds of anemia and he needed to do more exams to find out what was going on... but that visit was $400 USD and broke my bank acc, so with all the pain in my heart I brought him back home with me. Few days later I noticed he hadnt pooped so I took him to another vet many people recommended and he did xrays that showed he had been eating litter sand. They said I needed to do surgery and shouldve rushed him to a pet hospital but I cant afford that.. so again brought him home. I gave him a little bit of coconut oil and he puked out the sand... looked like he was gonna pass away... this has been really rough on me but Im beginning to notice that his improvement is on an up and down scale... that same day i also tried glycerin up his butt and he pooped automatically. The next day i did the coconut again... and he puked a hairball... i think i’ll keep trying the coconut but not as often maybe once every 5 days or so. And also i tried different food.. Which thank god worked.. And also i kept her hydrated... By feeding ors water every 2 hours.. U can try that out.. Or share what is the symptoms i will try to help! Will call my vet n ask bout ur pets syndrome if u want to.

Many a times when we try to feed them fluids, it goes down to there lungs, just be careful and dont force feed, u can try subcutaneous fluid injection

I don't know how the kittens came to be with you but a friend of mine in the cat business if you will for over 30 years says that ferals are getting pregnant too young which causes genetic problems with their kittens & they are breeding with cats inside their own colonies, IE dad is mating with daughter (that kinda thing)& it's causing the kittens to be born with all sorts of problems especially the upper respiratory infections.. even ones treated are dying. So sorry, I know that really sucks.

Please don't give it Pedialyte without asking a vet. I just read an article today that Pedialyte changed it's formula & has too much zinc now. You can do 1 teaspoon of salt, 3 teaspoons of sugar, and 4 cups of warm water. Mix it together good & then use a children's medicine dropper and tuck it in kitty cheek a little bit at a time several times or more a day.

If you can't find kitten formula milk, get goats milk and warm it, that is ok to feed kittens. I am not sure I understand what's wrong with your kittens, or how old they are, so it's hard for me to give more advice. Keep her warm and feed the goats milk as much as you can. Wishing you good luck.

@@KittenSchool Yesterday I lost my orphan kitten ..I feed him buffalo's milk with doubled /triple water in it ..keep him warm with clothing iron..his eyes were opened ... looking veryy very cute ..kept him clean..I thought now he will be with me forever after loosing his brother day before the day of yesterday ..yaa I adopt two baby orphan cats from neighbour house near .. maybe his brother died due to direct milk and very little amount of water but then I contact nearby pet dr. (I was aware of loosing the second one) he said just feed cow/buffalo milk by adding doubled amount of water..so I did it but he survived just more 40-45 hours than his brother..to be sad even I pumped myselfhis nose and mouth before dying 😭 but can't even save him..rest in peace.. do they both don't get sufficient essential nutrients.. What was wrong..😭😭

Try to find something soft and mushy...you could even mince cooked plain chicken with a knife and see if the kitten will eat that. Turkey or ham baby foods will work too, just make sure there are no extra sauces or garlic in them. Hope this helps!
