As a kid watching the show Debra seemed like a tyrant. As an adult watching this you realize Ray was a shity husband. He never took responsibility for much unless he was shamed. And he always took his mother's side.😂 But I always loved Frank.

It's crazy to think that I lived through the era where if you had a single copy of a wedding video and that tape ever got damaged, lost, or overwritten- that was it. Now with cloud storage, backup files, and flash drives, stuff like this doesn't ever have to happen again. Really amazing.

Looking back, it was really for the better that the video got taped over. Anyone who remembers Ray and Debra's wedding knew Ray behaved like an idiot at the altar and embarrassed practically everyone there.

Good premise for a fun episode but I doubt they'd pay for the entire wedding to be filmed then only order one copy of the tape. The parents on each side would have definitely also had a copy of their son's or daughter's wedding video. Plus, why on earth would the cassette tab to prevent recording not have been broken? That's wedding tape 101. So, there's a few holes here.

I don't doubt that the writer accidentally taped episodes of Raymond over their wedding video, it's an easy mistake to make if VHS cassettes aren't well marked, but did they elaborate on whether they were never able to retrieve another copy? Or was it just the accidental taping-over that inspired a funny sitcom premise? Which was then spun into an entire episode wherein the worst/funniest possible scenario for Ray is that there is no other copy. I think some creative liberties were probably taken to maximise the comedy. There's usually always a backup copy or several duplicate copies ordered for family or friends. Debra's parents should have had a copy, as too for Ray's parents. But it's certainly funnier that they don't.
