Thank you for the comparison. I was going to order the round sniper coil, but the 5x8 seems to be much better. Well worth the price difference.

The 5x8 coil is good but lacks depth of the large coil

My brother just purchased the AT MAX, he is having the same problems that you just described, will be watching for more updates on your detector, thanks, Dude Hammer

you have (8) pieces of metal so close to the coil, so yes the sensitivity will sound off crazy .......

I got an AT Max recently and this machine is jumpy as hell. I'm really considering getting rid of it and going to an AT Pro

I had it listed for sale after the first hunt. I took it out today one last hunt in a relatively clean park and again I was not happy. Even disc'd up and sensitivity down it was still crackly and popping. I did a depth comparison of a silver coin at 1 foot between the AT Pro and my AT Max and both could barely hear it. In all metal the Max heard it loud and clear but I doubt I would ever hunt in all metal...I don't want to be digging deep iron all the time. At any rate its gone now and I couldn't be happier about it. In my opinion the AT Pro was a much better machine.

cache mole from what I’m hearing is the Nox 800 is the way to go! Got my Max almost two years ago things got hectic with no time to use it. I finally started using it every day for the past week and I’m not happy with it! Back then I had a choice the Max or the Nox I went with the Max because of the hype and the minelab sight at the time confused me. If I was to chose today I would pick up the Nox 800.

Thanks for this. In your video, do you have a coil cover on your Super Sniper coil?

when i turn my AT Max on indoors i get the same electrical interference. But if i am outdoors away from power lines and electrical interference it works great.

Hi Phil, last Wednesday I got my Equinox 800 is for my wife I hope she will like it, for now we are covered by snow :(

voytek - also covered with snow. I have the 3030 but bought the 600 to travel around with. I love it so far. $100 less than the max and allot more features. Tones are crystal clear

From what I hear the Nox 800 is a much better machine than the Max! I own a Max and I have never touched a Nox 800, but I think I should have bought the Nox instead! I have watched a lot of videos on the Nox800 and the machine is picking up targets that the Max is missing! Idk. HH

This is why I am skeptical of the new at max until they improve and its data to send back . Garett is made in Asia whites made in USA and can be fixed in Langley free . I still in future want a at max just to see when it's improved on . Awesome videos Phil as usual .

Don't know where you got your information from but the Garrett is made in America!!! I know because I live about 10 minutes from their factory/headquarters!! kzbin.info/www/bejne/fWeYq6WdiM6JqMk
