The 2022 Frontier King Cab is offered in 4x2 and 4x4 S and SV grades with a 6-foot bed. The 2022 Frontier Crew Cab is offered in 4x2 and 4x4 S and SV (SWB and LWB) grades, as well as PRO-4X (4x4 only) and new-for-2022 PRO-X (4x2 only) grades. I love the lighting on the Pro4x, for the most part. The things I'd improve would be changing to amber rear turn signals, brighter backup LEDs, brighter dome LEDs, add footwell lighting, and all door switches illuminated. It's really frustrating to me when manufacturers omit these things just to add a few dollars to their profit margin. Trucks are absurdly expensive these days, so they shouldn't be lacking any of these things. Still, overall, I think the Frontier is the best looking midsize truck available right now.

Love your night time reviews on all the new vehicles. I wish there was a safe way to add lighting to all the dark spots on cars. Like you said, so many car companies try to save a few dollars by not adding small interior lights. I was happily surprised to see the Frontier had a lit glove box ( I saw your review of the Pathfinder lights ). Crazy to over a large storage in the center console and not furnish a light inside for searching at night. Ha PS: you do so many of your views such a service with your night time test drive, so many times we visit the dealer at mid day, it's hard to imagine what the dash looks like at night.

Disappointed that you didn't adjust the brightness of the center display. There is a physical brightness button to the right of the camera button. I never saw it get pressed unless I missed that part.

Rear turn signal light is also the rear brake light. Like most vehicles in the USA. Amber turn signals are required in some countries, while the USA allows red/amber for rear. Never had a problem with auto high beams on my GMC or Hyundai Tucson. If the vehicle uses the front (mirror) camera it is quite exact. (Old days when the vehicle uses a light sensor....AHB sucked big time.)

Just bought a new 2022 Frontier SV. I was a little shocked the first time I turned on the interior lighting at night. Was not expecting red backlighting. I don’t like it al all. Reminds me of a Pontiac circa late 1980’s. Should have been standard, understated white backlighting. Kinda ruins an otherwise great interior.

Quick comment on red back lighting. So many cars / suv etc today do not have interior lighting of switches. I love my wife's Mazda CX5 2014, but I would kill for 'red lighting ' vs no lighting. Very few switches have any lighting at all. No lighting on the door switches is a pain. This is why I'm considering the Frontier 2022 Pro 4X.

@@buggs33v Hi Jim! I suppose the good news is after owning the truck for a month, I’ve gotten used to the red backlighting. I do understand your comment though. I rather have any color backlighting than none at all. Bought the Frontier to replace my 20 year old Tundra. No regrets. The new Frontier is WONDERFUL.

I hate the interior lighting in this vehicle. I'm looking for options right now to help illuminate the interior properly. Also don't understand why it's not illuminated under the hood by the manufacturer.

Family member got a 2024 and I recently helped him move and had him follow me for the 75 mile drive and was absolutely blinded the entire time by the headlights. The truck itself isn’t exactly high and I was in a Jeep grand Cherokee so I wasn’t low either so naturally I texted him and was like hey can you do the world a favor and turn your bright lights off and he was like they aren’t on. I didn’t believe him thinking there was absolutely no way on earth those were not the bright lights.. we finally got to our destination and I looked for myself and he wasn’t messing with me. They were indeed the low beams. With that being said…. These headlights are beyond a nuisance, they are dangerous. Getting really sick and tired of all these new cars coming out with headlights that help the driver see a little better but completely blind the rest of traffic along with pedestrians causing a huge safety hazard. Fun fact, in the last couple years the death toll for pedestrians has gone way up in many areas and they suspect it’s due to the overly bright improperly angled harsh blue white led lights blinding other drivers along with pedestrians causing either the blinded driver to not see the pedestrian walking at a crosswalk while the blinding lights are waiting in the turning lane resulting in the pedestrian being hit or the pedestrian being blinded by the lights causing them to step out in front of a car they couldn’t see. There’s laws against these lights in other countries and I think the US is one of the last major countries that doesn’t have the adaptive angling led headlight technology being applied to new vehicles equipped with blinding leds
