Hey.. did you know him? I have a question. There is a 1979 rap single by Willie Wood & Willie Wood Crew called "Willie Rap" but it def sounds like the emcee says "Woody Wood" on the record. Peace Mary, May Allah (God) be pleased with our dear brother and friend DJ Woody Wood. I grew up in Jamaica, (Rockaway Blvd) Queens, and I have to be one of Woody and Infinity Machine biggest fan! Salute to Divine, dark skin Divine, Big Jamel (Cipha Sound), Keith Reddy (Wildcat), Rev Will, Kendo, and Antonio! I saw Woody last DJ’ing @ the Scene on Guy Brewer (now Checkers). It was like my 10th time there and he never spoke on the mic..but on this particular Thursday he got on the mic to announce they were towing cars! I was in a conversation and stopped mid sentence, as if in a daze, my friends thought I was having a seizure! They were asking me “what’s wrong?!!” I ignored them, as if in a trance, started looking and asking bar maids for the DJ booth! “Oh shit Woody!!! Is that you???? I’m like Woody, I’ve been coming here for weeks and you never get on the mic and say anything!!! He said “Aaah Donny, nobody wanna hear that stuff no more!” It broke my heart 😢 Woody died about a month later! “Like Earl Monroe and Clyde Frasier, you got da Woody Wood in the Fantasia! Let’s Rooock! 😅 Woody Lives! Bro Don Muhammad
