Update. The low light on this camera is incredible. Very clean blacks, definitely my favorite in the DSMC2 line.

Hello! Please, I'd like to know the 1.33X ANAMORPHIC resolution for the RED GEMINI 5K. I know that the default resolution for the RED GEMINI is 5120x300. But, I'm also aware that the resolution for all red cinema cameras always increase when you shoot anamorphic. (1) Please, what is the 1.33x anamorphic resolution for the red Gemini 5k? (2) Does the camera use ALL THE FULL HEIGHT AND WIDTH of the sensor during a 1.33x anamorphic mode??? Thanks for your time.

Hello, I own an epic x and my sdi/HDMI ports are not connecting. Red says they don't offer services on my camera anymore, can anyone recommend a site or forum where I can find the parts. Cheers.

What adapter are you using to mount dual batteries?
@AbelCine_official5 жыл бұрын
Hi Apogee - thanks for your comment and apologies for the delayed reply. Nic says " "That type of hotswap adapter is colloquially referred to as a "sharkfin". They are made by all the major battery manufacturers, such as Anton Bauer and CoreSWX. The adapter in the video is a CoreSWX model for Gold Mount batteries. The current version looks like this: www.abelcine.com/buy/cameras-accessories/batteries-power-1/core-swx-hotswap-sharkfin-plate-gold-mount"

Which is better red Gemini or red with helium 8k sensor in extreme low light conditions ??
@AbelCine_official6 жыл бұрын
Here is a reply from Nic: Generally speaking, the GEMINI would be the best choice. Producing a better image in low light is subjective because the qualities that make the image "better" (ie: noise levels, brightness of exposure, etc) may vary in importance from operator to operator and project to project. Perhaps a better question would be "which sensor will produce a more usable image when there is not enough light to get a proper exposure?", in which case the GEMINI will have a significant advantage as the Low Light circuit actually makes the sensor more sensitive to light, a feature the HELIUM lacks.

@@AbelCine_official I agree with how you phrase things - love it!. I would also say that at some point, one encounters the physics related limits of low light - if light is low enough, it's likely getting mixed up with ambient radiation (look up "shot noise"). You also have to think that in most places you are fighting existing light to get the shaping you want - rare is the perfectly dark set, especially in an urban area - so how little light could you really possibly have? The Gemini is on the edge of hitting those limits - the Helium not really. I also find that the Gemini rolls off highlights in a nicer way than Helium, and generally has a pleasing film-like response curve. Having shot with all Red cameras, Gemini is overall my favourite sensor from them, MX a close second, then Helium and last Dragon.
