I loved this album the day it came out. I saw them live on the "Fuck The Police" tour starring Rage Against The Machine. The lineup the night I was there, At The Drive In, Blackstar (Mos Def & Talib Kweli... legends), and R.A.T.M to close. Hundreds of police boycotted the show outside- walking in was hostile! The atmosphere was absolute rebellion. Best concert of my life. Decades later it owns my heart. Also the day I fell in love with ATDI, as they closed the set by smashing their guitars and kits. An exclamation on some of the deepest feelings. Pure awesome.

Hense sounds like. Vocally, The style is totally different, but honestly not too different. Aic was one of the bands to really make use of different vocal techniques to make haunting and twisted vocal tones. It would have to be the atmosphere of the song and the bass groove for sure. Cedrics versing does have that call to action effect layne had but it feel almost reversed. It's like layne was speaking from a personal experience or a story from someone in real life that had told him, but in this Specific song for ATDI I feel like cedric is in that same style, but his story comes from a more futuro-sciFi type story.

I agree with you on ATDI being pre-emo and working their asses off, theres always that famous story about how they got signed playing a show to a crowd of 9 people. I cannot agree with you that TMV has gone downhill though,if anything, being able to change direction from their roots so severly and come up with such ineresting new music is far from a decline imho. And as for Cedric using his higher register more, I'd say its much better for what theyve been writing.
