The walls of a poem like the foldin' of wings! They burn through the base of the skull! Under the eyelids the night eternal! Down fell the city of words The blackness throbbin' Foul & unrestrained Under the seafloor! Against the white sand Where the land has been drinkin' All our blood & regret Our words are like quicksand! Against the endless sky The poisonous darkness! In solid silence Like rivers of ice! We burn like blindin' fires In the void of my spirit! Deep in the lungs of Hell to sink like lead! In the void of my spirit Deep in the lungs of hell Trace-less through the air!

Does anyone have some interpretation of this video? I'm especially curious about the final part - when the flying head comes into play. I noticed something which resembles tears in 3:22. This head flows towards the truth about itself through the realms of aestetics (3:28) and religion (3:40). Behind the faith it finds knowledge of the scientific kind (the strange signs in 3:52) and ultimately nothing. In 4:08 the world starts to collapse and snow (death?) appears. The head has to die lonely and it longs for the undiscovered truth about itself (?? - I'm thinking about the hand in 4:44 now).
@Jake-sw3ss5 жыл бұрын
Hmm...The lyrics are confusing. Like poetry. The head first seems evil and to hide from, then almost sympathetic and to be pitied. Like ourselves as we all know nothing?
@Speed4Runs5 жыл бұрын
Why do the strange symbols have anything to do with strange? The only thing I recognize is a badly drawn diode circuital symbol
@xxMADxxSCIENTISTxx4 жыл бұрын
@@Speed4Runs I know these posts are old, but will try to provide some answer anyway. :) Well, actually 'science' here is sort of a guess - these symbols (mostly some disfigured letters, musical notes, etc., as you mentioned) might be connected to the idea of writing itself. One could agree that writing is one of the most profound inventions of humankind, because it paved a way towards what's generally understood to be science. Btw. I'm not particularly convinced that this interpretation is any good. Just trying to make some sense out of it. Perhaps it's slightly less about science and more about general attempts to find order in chaos (?). Dunno.
@Speed4Runs4 жыл бұрын
@@xxMADxxSCIENTISTxx hmm I see, so like a further abstraction layer... Could make sense
@varolason82634 жыл бұрын
I'd interpret this video as mankinds endless desire to discover the undiscoverable e.a. why am I here, what's my/our purpose, why was I made. With every side track/distraction we discovered writing, teaching, history, science, art. That later resulted in more questions, what's the origin of language, where did it come from, how did we come by it, why did we create writing. So to sum it up it (the video) shows just how lost, forgetful and helpless we are as a species
