I always take the fly out of the vise, use the razor to make the head a box then sculpt with the scissors

Great explanation of how to shape and create a head that water will move through and "muddle" the fly. Nice! Flloating line? Leader length? Intermediate tip?

Thanks Steve! I typically fish mine on a 15' dry line leader off the end of a Scandi head.. But I will often fish these under intermediate tips as well.

i think i would have gone with a low water Gama or Partridge due to the lighter wire the tiemco is more of a true iron
