Myself and my Mrs bought two ATA’s from you guys yesterday. The Mrs walked into the shop wanting to spend as little as possible so I expected she’d end up with something Turkish but I turned up happy to spend more. Having only shot more expensive guns I really wasn’t expecting a sub-£1000 Turkish gun to feel so solid and to satisfy my itch - but it did and it saved me £1000+ on what I was expecting to buy! ATA guns aren’t very common in America, well that’s what people think. ATA actually make the Weatherby Orion line of shotguns.

Here in the USA the predominant Turkish gun is marketed by CZ USA. These are Huglu made guns that are built to CZ's specifications. They are also very well made shotguns with quality that is very close to that for a Beretta 686. Another plus is they carry a lifetime warranty for first owners and will provide small parts for free for any second or third owner. As for the shooting quality, a friend won the 2021 State Skeet Championship shooting a CZ with 28 gauge tubes I sold him. BTW, here in the states most competition skeet shooters load their own ammunition because when you are using 10-40,000 rounds a year saving money on shells is essential. BTW, the least expensive caliber to reload is the 410, it's a bit more than 2 USD per box less than loading a 28 gram 12 gauge load. Compared to commercial 410 I save myself about 12 dollars per box. I now do most of my practicing for Skeet using the 410, it's cheap to load and a lot of fun to shoot once you start hitting well with it.

I found out 50 pounds of lead is $170, that will make only 800 12 ga rounds. I cancelled any reloading ideas I had. But 410, makes a lot of sense. It's still very hard to find.

I bought an ATA supersport over a year ago, put between 3-5000 rounds through it and it’s faultless. Only thing I should have bought it with an adjustable stock as I’ve had to tape some yoga Matt too it to raise it for my fat cheeks lol. It keeps up with some higher guns. It may not have the name behind it but as long as it goes bang and the dummy behind it outs the barrel sun the right place it’ll do the job.

Matt, great info yet again but I’m pretty sure I have seen a video of you reviewing the Yildiz range but can’t see it anymore. How do these compare to Yildiz? I am looking for a gun for my son who’s just started shooting and debating if to go for a new Turkish gun or a 2nd hand Browning etc. will definitely be paying PG a visit with him as I’m still loving the Pro trap I got from you earlier this year!

I bought a ATA Sporter nickel with adjustable combe I have shot a little over 1000 cartridges and it's great it's my first gun and I really don't think I need anything else

Nice one matt I bought my daughter the ata with the monte carlo stock cracking little gun for the money, totally agree with you when it comes to choosing an ata over a bettinsolli or a yildiz why pay more This is probably why the other youtube channel who shall not be named (OGC)🤣 try to push bettinsolli and yildiz over ata saying the ata lacks the quality of bettinsolli and yildiz but the extra £200 your saving could set you up with a vest glasses and ear defenders Sound advice as always 👍

20 bore cartridges tend to be slightly dearer than 12 bore cartridges

Hi looking to get into clay shooting complete beginner. What would you recommend I have a choice at local dealers of new ata sporter at £850, ata pro 12 and a used miroku mk38 g1 32 adjustable for £850?

Depending on height and strength we would normally advise beginners to use a 30” barrel. Having a choice of guns within your budget is always a good thing, as one may feel more comfortable and fit you better than another.

20 bore cartridges were more expensive to buy as less people shot them and manufacturers produced less or had to switch machine tooling to make 20 bore cartridges. However, as time has moved on 20 bore has become more inline with 12g cartridges as more and more people shoot 20 bore guns and manufacturers produce 20 bore cartridges in higher numbers
