Our first look at an ATA here on the ‪@eastfieldgunroom‬ channel. Over the last few years this is a brand that has taken the UK by storm with their fantastic looking range of shotguns that offer the shooter a combination of features and value. Having taken a huge amount of inspiration from an Italian giant of gunmaking ATA now produce one of the best selling range of game and competition shotguns in the UK today
As we don't like to things by halves here is the stunningly elegant SP Deluxe model. A gun that certainly in terms of aesthetics completely belies it's price tag.

I have an sp black that was my first gun, I honestly don't think they can be beaten on value for money, it shoots nicely and the only time I've had a problem with it ATA went above and beyond to rectify it even taking back to Turkey to completely restock and fore it just for a tiny crack on the fore.

I agree with your comparison of this gun to a more expensive gun. Bottom line is don’t be pressured to spend way more then you can or should. When I was young Affordability was the only consideration. I enjoyed hunting and shooting with my guns. Now older, I can afford nicer guns. Enjoy what you have ,don’t agonize over what you don’t have.Enjoy your vids.

Thank you for your comment and kind words. I have heard the story so many times of people that used to shoot but had to give up because life, marriage, kids got in the way. They always seem to come back to the sport though and as you say when the time allows treat themselves to the gun they always yearned for. Kind regards, Matthew

Another great video Matt.it's amazing that they can put wood like that on at the price point.however I can't help thinking that a good 2nd hand Beretta would be a better buy.nothing against Turkish guns and I don't shoot a Beretta either.

Another well informed video Matt. I have the SP . Being left handed it seems ATA only do left handed models in the cheaper SP range. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Great second hand buys for someone starting out, but I have no idea why people pay upwards of c.£2k on ATAs, Yildiz etc., unless you’re keeping it for 5+ years. By the time you’ve walked out the door, you’ve just lost the VAT and dealers margin in depreciation.
@eastfieldgunroom
@eastfieldgunroom 4 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment. I suppose with all new guns that the VAT is immediately lost. All ATA's fit within the sub £1500 category with the Yildiz Pro coming in at a higher price in high grade woodwork. Kind regards, Matthew

@@brianduffy5193 everything depreciates, my point is the Turkish brands have extremely poor residuals. My friend bought a Yildiz pro sport G4 (or whatever it’s called), it cost him £2k brand new - I thought he was bonkers for doing that. He got bored of it 7 months later and p/x for an Ultra XS Pro. He got £1100 for it , dealer currently has it up for £1225.

@@eastfieldgunroomthat’s true, but the Turkish brands seem to depreciate a lot more. They’re definitely better value in the used market.

@@brianduffy5193 everything depreciates. My point was the Turkish manufacturers have extremely poor residuals. My friend bought the ATA sport G4 for £2k, p/exchanged for an ultra xs pro around 7 months later and dealer gave him £1100 which he has up for just over 1200. Whilst a browning, beretta etc will depreciate, you’re not going to lost half the guns value in 7 months.

Looks great but won’t buy one because of the choke tubes they take mobil chokes are garbage and dont hold up to steel shot unlike browning or Remington Winchester ect. Even beretta stopped using mobil chokes for that reason.
@eastfieldgunroom

Thank you for your comment which I find interesting. I would hope that manufacturers would not make claims regarding steel that they are not able to support. Here in the UK, all Turkish guns are physically proofed for steel. Kind regards, Matthew
@cougarhunter8304
@cougarhunter8304 4 ай бұрын
@@eastfieldgunroom . mobile style chokes are thin and the threads are on the constrictive end of the choke where the most stress is at from shooting steel and made even thinner by cutting threads in to that area. Look at it like this theres steel proof and then there fully steel compatible right out the box with all chokes . Browning inv plus guns are full steel compatible rem choke is steel compatible browning standard Invector chokes same as win choke steel shot compatible. mobile chokes not so much what does a moble choke gun say. it depends on manufacture some not to use steel in any choke tighter then mod. And some ive seen said imp cylinder. I got a tristar setter o/u with mobile style chokes in owners manual it says only the cylinder and imp cylinder only are steel approved. So the gun is steel proof but only with the cylinder and imp cylinder with the factory chokes and Aftermarket chokes are needed to “help” fix that weakness . Now i got a few brownings that take inv plus chokes what does it say all chokes are fully steel shot compatible right out the box. So shoot what ever you want with what ever choke.

Decent gun for the money, but for me the metallurgy and design is worth more than nice wood, the breach face is recessed on lower barrel, and the mid rib end is by far enough to put me off Ata, good gun for money, but still a cheaply made gun
