The Android Team Awareness Kit (ATAK) is a gps communications tool that runs on a mobile device. It improves situational awareness by allowing users to know where their mission partners are located, regardless of affiliation. It also improves communications through a variety of applications.

@@virgilwalker683 that’s not how it works. You have a secure server that you can only access with the proper password. It’s not gonna show you where anyone is unless you have access to their specific server.

It's available, I think you'd just have to set up a server for it.

Hi Bryan, The ATAK work being executed currently within S&T has been focused on federal law enforcement (CBP, ICE, USCG, etc.). S&T’s first responder group developed an android and iphone based application called WatchTower to support state, local and EMS personnel. It can be downloaded at the following link. You are correct in stating the Department of Defense version is Android Tactical Assault Kit. As ATAK started gaining traction in the homeland security and civilian markets, the DoD renamed the civilian variant to Android Team Awareness Kit, as all kinetic related capabilities are removed and they wanted a clear delineation between the two baseline products.
