People only realize something was good when they get something worse. People are even missing Manmohan Singh Govt now that Modi Govt is botching up the economy badly. A fiscal deficit of 5.9% is no joke. If it is not brought under control, we may face a situation like Pakistan where we have to beg IMF for another bailout, like we had to in 1991. In 1991, our fiscal deficit was 7.4%

Moreover in the current COVID pandemic aftermath which the entire world is going through we are in a much better placed position than many of the other major democracies as their policies of high welfare schemes have botched up their economic health. As of today Feb 16, 2024 the UK and Japan have declared Recession in their economy, which was being predicted for the last few years.
