Old route is 57 km, new is 22km. Maths for up-down is: old route -57*2 = 114 Kms, new route = 22* 2 = 44, difference is 70 Km less for new route. My vehicle gives mileage of 10km per litre, so it basically saves 7 litres of diesel for me, and saves 7*94 = Rs 658 for me. Out of which i give Rs 375 as toll, which gives net savings of Rs 283 per trip. Also, it saves 3hours-40 mins which is 2 hours 20 mins

Exactly bro, I was searching for someone who can tell us the Maths 👍🏻 Toll Tax is always better than hours of Traffic congestion We as public have to fund and support such Engineering Marvellous projects And what is the definition of aam aadmi, he can't even afford a car and a flat in Navi Mumbai. The toll finalised is according to the cost of capital incurred.

No, the government is expected to develop the country, because we are already paying the taxes. Now comparing old infra with new for journey price calculation doesn't makes sense. Just for one return trip, I can't pay so heavy taxes, it's a lot of burden.

There should be a daily update of money recovery for the project. Once it's completed the toll should be only for the maintenance. And for the issue of high prices, use public transport. A car is still a luxury and when it becomes a necessity then we will be developed.

I saw some usual jokers crying for toll at new Atal Setu in Mumbai Toll charge : Rs 250 Petrol saved : Rs 500 to 800 Driving Time saved : Average 2 hrs Driving distance 57-60 km reduced to 22 KM and the best, old road is not closed and its free to use it If you wish to use good roads, save time, fuel and maintenance cost of your car, you have to pay

It is one of the biggest gift for Navi Mumbai people. In Mumbai time is paramount, 1.5 hrs vs 15 mins ... 40+km vs 20km ... Half fuel consumed. Fuel efficiency is another factor given 20km non stop 100kmph ... Impact on economy.. max a person could have done 2 round trips now he can do more than 6

@lazilyordinary. Don't worry the fair will be accordingly.. and whatever the toll is, it's gonna be splitted among the minimum riders and in Mumbai it's normal to have more tha 30 per bus... Asking common man to shell out 10 bucks extra to save 1.2 hrs is not unfair...you don't like don't use it ... Simple, don't try to justify your lack of understanding

Length of the bridge is 21.8 km which means the door to door distance between ones work and home iss atleast 35 km. If you travel with your car 70 km daily means you've money. Without the bridge going from point A to point B will cost much more than 375 rupees in fuel cost. It has been kept after a lot of discussion. Initially 500 rupees was recommended.

Every bridge has a toll depending on it's length. Don't use it, take longer on the other road and pay petrol money instead.

The prices are not that much actually. The meerut Delhi expressway also takes 180 rupees for single journey and people travel every day to work in Delhi . I also travel using a app called blabla which is a car pooling app . 4-5 people travel in a car and contribute money hence making the toll price affordable.

Thank you for reminding us of this factor, people are clearly missing out on this possibility… The underlying fact of the matter is that many companies associate or provide with such car pooling groups to provide transport for their employees, meaning that companies and such associates will refigure their cost based on this new bridge. I did some maths, if the daily commute is taken into account then every person doesn’t pay ₹1.25 lakhs but instead around ₹31.5k per year for maximum days of work 28 days a month. And people who are eager to commute to their workplaces in old or Navi Mumbai will use this to get around therefore making this affordable for the average working class mumbaikar.

Calculation per trip: Old road Chirle interchange to lower parel - 45kms - approx 2 hours - 1200cc petrol car gives 10-12 kms/ltr - requires 4 ltr petrol - ₹420 - no toll - fatigue Calculation per trip: Atal setu Chirle interchange to lower parel - 30kms - approx 40 mins - 1200cc petrol car gives 15 kms/ltr - requires 2 ltr petrol - ₹210 - ₹250 toll - no fatigue Those taking one way trip are those who travel from outside to mumbai and ₹40 is the cost for saving 80 mins time and no fatigue. For those making daily up and down which is return trip save money as cost is only ₹375 and no fatigue and 160 mins time saving. Worth it or not? comment down below.

They should introduce a quarterly and yearly pass for this bridge. If somebody is using this bridge and is willing to work in Mumbai for long period then instead of 1.25 lakhs maybe they charge 70k for the same.

It's ok sir, people will complain when there is no solution, people will also complain when there is solution. As a Mumbaikar I do understand the value travelling time. If this is going to save your time and fuel and efforts won't bother to pay that much. And people will also appreciate that. Any public consultation is not free it comes with the cost. Gov will have to repay the loan too which they have taken.

It would have been better if you had come with fuel cost analysis, Considering two factors, mileage of average indian car and speed . Current route is 41 kms. Atal Setu reduces it to 22 kms. Almost half travel distance. If an average car user travels it one way, return, or daily for month or year. What fuel cost he incurs on old route vs what will fuel cost in this bridge stretch as speed would be more constant.

This is awesome accomplishment. Authorities had good vision and worked hard completing this project. But I feel vision of fulfilling traffic needs only till 2040(15-20 yrs from now) is very small. Projects like this takes years to plan and complete. Authorities should have atleast aimed for building 10 lane highway which would have met traffic needs of 30-40 yrs and would have been grand achievement.

It is going to cut down 30 km extra that we used to drive. So most of us have cars with mileage of 15km/l and price of petrol vary around ₹ 95-105 . So you spend around 200-210 on fuel that could be saved. Price of ticket is 250 so you are spending 50-75 extra in one way trip but are saving an hour of your time which could be utilized somewhere else plus the traffic which may increase your fuel cost which may help you break even or save money.

Yeah, I also think that the fee is too much like if I'm using it once in awhile as a tourist then it is somewhat acceptable, but majority of people would love to use it for daily commute to their job and all. And the fee is too much for daily commuters. Gov. should reconsider it and reduce the fee, at least for those who opt for monthly pass, etc. But, aside from this, yes, indeed it's an engineering marvel in this new India. And also 💛💛 Japan and their late PM for this project.

I have done the Mumbai Pune trip. Don't know maybe hundreds of times and I used to get so frustrated after crossing new Mumbai. Because it takes 2 hours and more to get into the South. Mumbai, this bridge is a blessing for sure.

The pace at which massive road construction is going on ia truly astonishing but many of the expressways we see r under utilised bcoz of Super High Toll Tax, of course, govt need to collect the construction cost of the project but the project won't be able to contribute its full potential to the economy until toll is not lowered.

Those toll taxes that look like on higher side will become adjustable in coming days. BeCause country's average purchasing power will not remain same, the power going to rise up and maybe double in 10-15 years. In meantime we have to co-op with govt a little bit.

I think this toll structure is appropriate considering the money saved on fuel from 2 hr journey to 20 minutes journey, also the the carbon footprint will also be reduced hence saving govt.'s money on climate crisis..

When ever a new project is built anywhere in India, some people always complain that the cost is too high. They said the same for Mumbai metro, same for UP RRTS, same when airports were built, etc. But people are still using it. They are not accumulating dust. Believe me, people in Mumbai are lot richer that you would like to accept.

The current distance between two cities (points connected by the bridge) is 38km, and by using this bridge, the distance is reduced to 21.8 km. So in simple economic terms, we are going to save 1-2 Ltrs of petrol (110-220 Rs) and here we are considering no traffic. With the current traffic scenario, you will save up to 2-3 Ltrs. And so far in this calculation, we have not even considered the time and effort we will save on this journey. Also, this bridge increases connectivity options for Navi Mumbai International Airport and the JNPT. And in the future, there is a plan to develop the third Mumbai (NAINA project) so this bridge will play an important role in it.

Brilliant analysis! We can save money by reducing oil consumption and also travel timing but the problem is if there are certain toll taxes evey now and then ,then it's really not good for economy,we can observe that goods and service price will be hiked even to know that cost of living is high in these cities

The pass amount is justified. As renting a house for doing job in Mumbai is costlier than pass. And for one time use , toll passes are almost 250 rs or sometimes more than that . Travel buses, trucks can easily pay this , because the amount of fuel and time it can save is more than what it is asking for.

It unfortunately isn't if it was around 5 to 6k yes it was justified but 12.5k is a bit too much most people who would be using the bridge will be the common man who i would say would earn on an average about 50k/month? Maybe even less and if he/she has to pay 12.5k straight up to just drive over a bridge it would mess up his/her whole budget.

sir I know your point of view. about our country's tax .. but as a Mumbaiker.. that is mostly Useful for south Mumbai's (old Mumbai) rich people and it's tottaly affordable.. navi Mumbai have lot of movie and t.v entertainment offices they were irritated with long waiting traffic.. so middle class people will not mostly use that sea link. our city's 80 % people travel by locals and metros.. so tottaly gonna be OK with Mumbai's economy. .😊

Government need to understand that heavily taxing people and not giving them required facilities, make people angry. That's why people leave the country. Tax them accordingly and make proper facilities, after that people will give tax happily. Rates are fare, you referred monthly or weekly pass, which is for multiple journey in a day. However, if you see return journey rate 375, it's reasonable. Already existing/ old toll takes around 100 rupees for return journey which barely connect mankurd to vashi. Where as this bridge connect Colaba to Panvel. Normal journey time is usually 1 hr to 1.5 hr, where as new bridge journey it would be 20 minutes. Just think almost. 2 hr saving of your day with family. I think it justify rates.

Bro total fee for up and down is ₹375 , 1L petrol price is 100 it means 3.7 L petrol. Average cars give 20-30 km per milage then it will easily travel 90-100 km on that price of taxes from old route. So why middle class ppl will pay this much of taxes with burning of petrol of 20km,For some sort of less time..

The answer is Ugram, it is an assault rifle developed by DRDO for military, paramilitary & police forces. The assault rifle has got 7.62 mm calibre rounds with the effective range of 500 meters which makes superior to INSAS which has the feature of 5.62 mm calibre rounds.

The cost of using this bridge for a single car for a year is 1.5 lacs, which is way higher considering it is a single bridge ride of about 20mins. But we cannot shed off the fact that, people who are working in Mumbai and will be living in Navi Mumbai, will be earning more. Moreover we have to earn revenue from this bridge so that we can repay the loan to Japan. This has not been built on our money. We have to think from both sides not unilaterally. Overall it will discourage people from living in Navi Mumbai. (probably) Let's see!

Central Government should offer subsidized rates of toll for people traveling from the bridge because trucking companies are going to pay for the toll and if rates are so high some companies might go bankrupt just because of using the bridge… At least for trucking companies who will extensively use the bridge not for people using it for their personal traveling purpose but for business related purposes government should offer subsidy on the bridge…
