Youth ! I remember the day being so flexible and walking on a plank of wood with the same grace and strength. Kudos to that team of men and to your contractor!

Years ago I worked for company and there were 3 of us on the crew we would build a 24x32 pole barn in 3 days. If they wanted us to put in the cement floor then it took 4 days. This is a nice large crew and you can tell they know what they are doing. Looking forward to seeing the steel go on. Thanks for sharing.

Hello, I wish I had a cordless nail gun when I put my pole barn up, I had the good old fashioned hammer and nails. When I put on the addition to my pole barn I used 2" insulation on the inside of the roof too help with the condensation, and I taped all the joints. Love the video's keep up the good work and god bless and stay safe.

You can design one on Menard's website in the project area. Put in your demensions, windows, type of doors. My trusses are 4' on center. You can then print a rendering, plans, and materials.

Did I hear you say in an earlier video that the posts were 54" deep into the ground?
@ataleofthreecabins1025 Жыл бұрын
The top of the pill or cookie or footer has to be 48” below grade. So if those pills are 6”, 54” would be right.

24'X32" with a 12' wide 10' high sliding door. Trusses are 4' on center. This was not a kit, but Menards does have a handy project designer on their website which will give you a material list and plans, also an idea of cost. I used it, but did not purchase materials there

Quick question. I want 30x40 house/finished garage......., should I do stick or pole? .whats cheaper and easier? Slab is expensive, can I use raised floor on blocks and build floor base with 2x12's? Would that be cheaper than slab?
@randybobandy98282 жыл бұрын
@Casey Kelso pole building will be cheaper for the simple fact you don't need concrete footings around the entire building. Concrete is expensive! Stick built needs footings or you could do a pier foundation instead.

I’ll bet you are happy you didn’t do it yourself! I was sure happy the way the crew put mine up. There a a lot of tricks the do to speed up the process a first time builder don’t know. looks great, my building has the posts lying on top of the of the 12 inches of concrete around the perimeter with a 6 inch floor the steel brackets which the poles are bolted to are in the 12 inches of concrete.
@ataleofthreecabins10253 жыл бұрын
Yes, my biggest stumbling block would be trimming it out. Our neighbor used the same method as you with the post. We have a packed to have our children to let us know which lasted longer in the afterlife:).
