It looks like you had a lot of sway on your 3 point. Could that have caused the bolt to snap off?

My thoughts exactly. Maybe it snapped the bolt when the whole attachment reached the other side of the sway...with the momentum.

Agree, I had a similar issue...dealer said to tighten the turnbuckles to eliminate any side to side play.

This, 1000x, this. 3 point implements are not supposed to wag side to side more than a dog's tail.

I like the fact that you don't seem to baby your rig. I have been using a JD 1070 loader/backhoe combination rig for about a dozen years and wow! Backhoe, loader, both irreplaceable!

Man! You work that 1025r!

I would never, ever have been able to find the broken bolt that easily! You almost had a neon sign pointing it out for you.

I believe this is a under reported/highlighted issue with the 1 series sway links. I broke one of mine last month while using my maschio offset frail mower. Thing is, it was not the bolt side of the link that broke but the plate with the hole to pin on to the tractor frame. I think the weight of the frail mower is so high, any movement of it causes fatigue on the links. I was lucky to get a complete sway link in a couple of days here in Poland. I will get another as a spare should the other one fail soon. Im going to keep the old parts as extra spares should the bolt side shear infuture. Definitely worth buying the whole unit at one time as it'll workout cheaper in the long-term. Love the videos, Im keepin a eye on you 😉🧐

Most dealerships have a bunch of extra 1025R 3pt kits as they don't always remember to give you the kit when you get a backhoe and no rear attachments

I have broken two of those. One of them I was over working it. 1 of them just pulling the box blade. I really think they are a weak part. My dealer says no. I am thinking of ordering an extra one since they break at the worst time.

I’ve broken three myself in about 520 hours of use with all kinds of different implements. That bolt is a weak point in the 3 point system. Between my rotary cutter, tiller, and stump grinder there’s a lot of forces on them. I think most of the issue is the weight shifting against the sway linkage. Sure would have been a better design not to have the sway linkage and lift arms share a bolt. I’ve had to use a socket extension pushed through there with vise grips on each end before to finish a job. I keep at least one extra with me now. I’ve gotten to where I order the assembly with the turnbuckle and all. It’s not any more expensive for some reason.

I’ve found the rotary mower is hardest on 3 pt as any attachment I have!! A lot of sided to side torque I’ve snapped that same bolt on both sides

Nice job on your work buddy looks good. I have a question for you guys that own this popular Tractor. I know it’s not a Track Loader but is it strong enough to get a lot of work done or do you wish you had gotten a little bigger machine? I have a 40 hp Tractor. The loader lifts 2,150 lbs but I’m looking at getting a considerably smaller Tractor to work on residential properties without destroying lawns. I will keep my bigger Tractor for more muscle when I need it. Thanks in advance.

Funny, same thing happened to me this last summer. Bought 2015, 450 hours. Same side. Looking at the bolt, it was corroded meaning it was degrading a while and by the twist, it looked over torqued. Maybe dealer, maybe factory?

Where do you get your schematics for the 1025r, please? Thanks for the video. Been subscribed for more than a year now. I always keep those sway bolts evenly tightened on both sides.

Too much sway, you should tighten those knuckles 🙆♂

any 3pt system will have a weak link unfortunately. At least this one is an easy fix.

Get at least two. They do break easy.
