The version I got does not have the little window on the back. I think it might be the Pro. The best thing about it is that the clip section can be put on the back to cover the camera lense. I don’t like that the Touch ID is covered but I haven’t had issues with it.

I'm going retro, so I am here in 2022 looking for cases for my first iPhone. With that said, I like Otterbox but be warned. One, I am happy that you mentioned how dust will get under the Otterbox case. One shoud be aware of this as they are not advertised as dust proof cases. I am a person that changes cases often and I like to admire my phones without cases, so I will go without one so I can slip it into my suit pocket. Two, I had an Otterbox on my Note 8 for about two years, and the only thing that made me stop carrying it is that the clip broke. I dropped it on the hard, gravel street from above waist height and nothing happened to it. There should be a disclaimer for it and just about every other case: leaving a phone in a case for a month straight is going to yield dust and debris and the longer you leave it, the more the dust rubs against your nice phone and is like sandpaper rubbing against a fresh paint job. I am going to get a leather slip bag and the Otterbox Defender because a phone is not meant to stay in any case indefinitely. You must take it out weekly and clean it with a soft cloth. My OCD goes into overdrive when my wife or others do not understand this concept. I honestly prefer to not have a case as most of these phones are aesthetically pleasing that they should not be restricted to any case, but that is just my wishful thinking unless you are Neil Degrasse Tyson, of course!

Otterbox is the literal GOAT. I'm not here to pick a fight, actually the opposite: researching for my new iPhone SE. I'm switching from a 6s, and I had clip cases similar to the non-OtterBox cases you showed. One day, I did drop my phone on tile, and made a small hairline-crack, which developed across the whole screen by the end of that week. I took it to Apple, bit it, and paid the $150 to have the screen replaced. Once I left, I went straight to Best Buy, and bought the OtterBox Defender, another screen protector, and have never looked back. My sense of safety for my phone has been non-existent ever since I put that OtterBox on. Dropped it from great heights, and angles, and don't break a sweat. (My friend even dropped a 25lb. non-bumpered plate right onto the phone, and the OtterBox really came in clutch.) Yes, downsides like getting internally dirty, and bulkiness, but those really don't bother me. As long as I don't have to pay $150, or any amount to have my phone physically fixed, I'll take an OtterBox any day of the week. Been a guaranteed safety, and that the priority: To protect your investment. Still found your video very interesting, and wish more people did comparisons like this. Subscribed, and definitely intrigued with what's to come! I decided to go with the Black OtterBox Defender PRO for my productRED iPhone SE. I may be overdoing this comment, but my whole deal is cases are made to protect, period. I'm gonna have the OtterBox, front-screen protector, AND rear-glass back protector. MrGuyGoneGamer, great comment! I feel your true sincerity in this comment. Very well done. I was let down a little by this OtterBox Defender. Let me give a back story... I was buying the Note 10 Plus at T-Mobile. I couldn’t decide on a case so I bought 4. Yeah, I over did it, but this is good. One of the cases was the OtterBox Defender “Screen-less” version. I was doing a KZbin video for those four cases, and when I got to the Defender. I thought there was no way I would like that huge monstrosity of a case. I didn’t like it. I loved it. After the video. I couldn’t say enough about it. I went out, and got the iPhone 11 Pro Max version. That one is screen-less as well. The grippy feel in the hand, and the sense of security is seconded to none. The holster...Don’t even get me started. The holster makes the case so incredibly functional. Has a pop socket beat for the functionality medal “if there was one” any day! Then there is the iPhone 7 version. All the same great function, feel, and sense of security as always. Then you look at the face. Crickets in the background. That’s what I here. What happened to my phone? Where is it. Oh yeah, it traveled back in time to 2016 as soon as I put on this case. Hey my friend. This was fun. Thank you for getting me going on this. You inspired me to right with a little passion. With what you wrote. I loved every second of reading your comment. There is still so much to love about this iPhone 7/8 Defender defender case as well. Plus I like the thought of time travel anyway. Protect your investment my friend. Money isn’t easy to come by. It’s hard earned. Please let me know how you like the front and back glass protectors. @@SomethingMobile I finally upgraded from the iphone 6 to the 2020 se and otterbox has an updated case for the se although without the cutout for the apple logo. Also wireless charging works good with the updated otterbox defender.

Also I found an old silk brand wallet case I used for my iphone 6s and it fits just fine. Only that theres no headphone jack on the iphone se 2020 but it doesnt affect the usibility.

Yeah, I hadn't thought about the cutout for the headphone jack until yesterday when I was thinking about what to say for the most recent video. It's a good point you make James, because others may not like the cutout. It's super important to tell others here any little detail. It's great however that you found an old case to use. It's so great to be able to repurpose things. Especially phone cases. How are you liking your SE? Do you find yourself using the ROG phone more or less than the SE 2020? Digital Life i love the ROG phone but the iPhone se is in my pocket. I wouldn’t get rid of either though. Having the ability to reuse cases from past phones is a huge perk. Less waste also because people can use the same cases for longer instead of having to get a different one for their new one. Part of me thinks it should be mandated by manufacturers to keep the same overall design of the phone so that less cases need to be made. I don’t think most of these can be recycled but I’m not sure.

I got the whitestone dome. Install was a fail. Had to order another. Good thing it was only $10. I'll use the one I have now til it breaks though.

Oh no. I noticed it was a little bit of a tight fit, but made it work. What happened when you tried it?

@@SomethingMobile the first attempt I got bubbles under the glass so I tried pushing them out but I pushed out the required volume of fluid to cover the whole screen so I took it off wiped everything down well and tried again with the second tube of adhesive. No bubbles but the adhesive didn't reach all the way to the bottom of the screen. When I try again I'm going to try to get the puddle of adhesive to go further down the screen towards the middle or closer to the middle before pulling the tab for the screen to fall on top. I feel like the bracket that you put the tube in should be a little lower on the jig.

Well if the iPhone SE is a little bit thicker than my iPhone 8 then I would never be able to get my Mophie juice pack air on it because it’s already so tight I had to cut out the little rubber bumpers inside there are four of them. I think it’s actually meant for the iPhone 7 because I heard the iPhone 7 was 1 mm narrower than the eight and when you go to a hard case like that it Has to fit precisely or it will just be too tight. I have to use a credit card to get my iPhone 8 out of the Mophie juice pack air it’s so tight yet they advertise it as being able to fit for the iPhone 8

If it’s tight on the eight I don’t think those hard cases will fit the SE. Might be worth looking into, or for a video

Should I worry about how snug the UAG 7/8 case is on the SE? Just wondering before I buy it

I believe there is no need to be worried that your phone will be damaged by a tight fit. I prefer it really. Also I have used both the Monarch and Plasma. The Monarch is still on my phone and all is well. Please take caution though. If you feel the fit is much too tight please consider not using or purchase the new version of the cases from UAG.

Okay, so The UAG case you recommend, is the case sheer? Is that why you can see your phone? Like you, I really want to be able to see my phone, as much as possible. Is it the Plamsa Case [Ash] Rugged Translucent ? Also, how difficult is it, really, to apply the screen protector you got?

I'm sure you have the case by now, and are aware that you can still see your phone through the ash color. Please tell me how you like your case. Did you get around to installing the Whitestone Dome Glass Screen protector I recommend? If you haven't taken the chance yet I got you covered. I purchased the Urban Armor Gear UAG Deisgned for iPhone SE 2020 Case Plamsa [Ice] Rugged Translucent Ultra-Thin Military Drop Tested Protective Cover, 112043114343. I did not purchase the screen protector yet because it looks very challenging to put on, and I don't have anyone to help me.

You said you have a Whitestone glass screen protector... does it fit proper or does it not adhere near the edges bc a lot of people have been having this issue since the SE screen curves slightly towards the edge

Great question! It does seem to come up on the edge a little. Just on the right edge. Nonetheless, it does come up a little. I thought it was due to me pushing on the edge a little too hard while cleaning. I’ll have to try to apply it again. To see if the outcome is different.

No joke i had one for my note 8 and it has like this curved edges so can you use the edge of the screen and in just dropped it like 1or2 feet and it cracked so I got the iPhone se

I have not dropped tested anything yet, but I’m not apposed to it. I just don’t have the money as of yet to buy a new phone if it breaks. Lol. I haven’t used a Lifeproof case in a long time, but my cousin was all about the brand when the company first made the cases.

@@SomethingMobile Up to this point, I have only used Lifeproof cases. Today I received my Iphone se 2020, and REALLY need a reliable, drop tested case! I also need an excellent screen protector. I do not want to get another Lifeproof case, simply due to the cost, and the last one I got, although it REALLY protected my phone from the accidental falls and drops, some parts of the case have broken down.

Cheri1, have you tried OtterBox cases. They are great quality. If you get the Defender you don’t need a screen protector, but I would still use one. The only screen protector I’ve used with the SE 2020 is Whitestone dome glass. You can get both of these on Amazon. You will have great warranties on both of these products. They are not the cheapest purchase possible, but are worth the price. I really like UAG cases for this phone as well. They fit so nice, and offer great protection. You do need to protect your phone fast considering you just got it. If you order through amazon I think that would be fast, but maybe going to Best Buy or your carrier store would be better so you can have a case and screen protector today. Zagg invisible shield is a great brand too. That would be a good screen protector for you. Also not cheap, but you can get a replacement for cheap if you need one due to cracking from a drop or scratches from use.
