LOVE how they are paying homage to kaiju movies and how the video, like the title being "Tokyo Calling" and sounding just like "Tokyo Korin" meaning descending on Tokyo, is about these girls being the heroes of Tokyo, but also being the titanic kaiju that descend on Tokyo. They are trying to say that Japanese city life is depressing and awful, and to save its people, Tokyo would have to destroy its current way of life. It's such a cool way of putting visuals to the song.

You gotta appreciate the effort that went into making so many miniatures! The first time I saw this on my phone I assumed it was compositing with footage of real buildings, but you can see movement as they dance, and smudges on the windows. Such a neat idea to do things the traditional way!

AG’s exciting dance choreography, musical score, and visuals are pure genius. Playful and fun; part shtick, part nostalgia to classic Japanese Kaiju movies, nevertheless there is a powerful underlying commentary, reverberating in the lyrics and the beat. People, in Tokyo or society en masse, are being trampled by modern day problems. But the message is compelling: There is no Super Hero coming to save us; It’s a call for all of us to work together to rescue ourselves and others and secure a more hopeful future.

That's one of the things I really love about this (and many other AG works): this isn't fluff. It has something valid and important to say. That's a current that runs through a few J-music acts I particularly like.
