It would be awesome to see more tech videos on your channel like this one. Videos like this make me happy, like your Atari 1050 disk drive :-)

Tech vids with ' nice ' thumbnails trend better.

Nice. Good to see these kind of videos 🙂 I've fixed a lot of 1050 drives, they are enjoyable to fix. Usually caps / diodes that go bad I've found along with dirty heads and dirty drive select switch.

Thanks! I figured someone would like these quick little ghetto vids. I never considered myself to be a disk drive repair guy, but my general skillset has helped.

I got a bootleg of the Happy Drive upgrade for my 1050. I don't think the guy charged me more than $35 (forty years ago) and he even installed it for me. It was great! I'm looking forward to getting this back of Spring Break, along with the first three Atari models and a bunch of other accessories and software that were taken from me when I moved to California thirty years ago.
Very nice! Always wanted one of these BITD. Need to order a couple of these, too. I recommend you store the original two chips inside the 1050 case so they stay together with the drive. IC foam... I don't see the followup video demonstrating the upgraded drive. =(

I did not have a chance to make the follow up video because I traded it for the ultra-rare PS3000 monitor and two JVC made 1224's, one of which works. : kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6LOnJd-epaAr8k

I save all IC's that still work, even the ones identified with errors by the Diagnostic Station
