Sadly, I agree with your review, though I like "Crystal Mines 2" a lot more than you do. I own a Lynx Model 2 and about thirty games. Why Evercade chose these 17 titles over many of the ones I've played is perplexing. It probably boils down to rights, as many of the best games are arcade ports. The Lynx was a very capable system with a small but impressive library. I do suggest looking into it further.

Good review and history. Similar to you, I have zero experience with the Lynx so when I saw the two carts coming on Evercade I was initially excited. But then I actually started to watch gameplay. I don't think any of these games appeal to me and it seems to me they loaded this collection so it has an impressive number but seemed to put most of the bigger hitters on the second collection. I'll be curious what you think of that one. I might have considered these if they put all the games on one cart but even then it would have been questionable. I understand some people really enjoy these two but I don't think they are for me.

Another great review! This was one of the first Evercade carts i got. I think back in the day these games would have been a lot better, compared to say an original Game Boy/Gamegear. The Golf game is entertaining, i also enjoyed the Tennis game, just it's very very difficult. The platformers are garbage. I found these games are best played on the handheld and not the VS! It will make you go cross eyed 😂. Have you played the Atari 50 collection? It's really good. Keep up the good work mate!

I had an Atari lynx back In the day (battery life would die so fast). I enjoyed a lot of the games unfortunately they were arcade ports (paperboy, roadblasters, rampage, joust) I did have switchblade 2 on it, also enjoyed (although bloody hard) batman returns

I wish I'd have picked one up 5 years ago when they were dirt cheap. I'll have to get one soon, I think I'd enjoy even the bad games more on the actual hardware.

@@thegamesapprentice they even had a prototype of version of Aliens Vs Predator (first person). Considering this was the early 90s, to be able to play an almost arcade accurate version of paperboy was just amazing. I have a lynx 2 now, but I miss my original lynx and would love to get an original lynx again. Yeah the lynx was pretty cheap for a very long time, no one wanted them and then all of a sudden they have shot up in price.

Inverted controls make perfect sense when you're flying a ship. In a plane, you would pull back to go up and push forward to go down. Obvious is obvious.

Yea the Lynx games only looked good because their nearest rival was the Gameboy or Gamegear. Shite games.
