Major Havoc might be the most underappreciated game in history. It’s so stylish. Each life takes place in an unbroken longshot that shifts between scenes without any hard cuts. Each life is a different clone, so if you set a bomb on a space station but fail to escape you don’t have to retry; the next clone picks up on the following stage because that bomb would have exploded the station whether the hero survived or not. Honestly I think it’s worth buying a VCS just to play Major Havoc with a proper spinner. It’s playable with an analog stick on other consoles but it’s not the same.

I agree completely. It's very underappreciated and I love going back to it. I wish my classic controller didn't have drift (at least that's what I think the problem is) because it just doesn't feel right playing it without a spinner

Mine stick doesnt flicker like that. There are controller firware releases you can perform in the system menu if controller is hooked up via usb
