Thank you! This demonstration was nearly spot on. I’ve treated patients with differing stages of ataxia and all of them walked at least somewhat like this. After each step there is also a quick back-bending of the spine used in an effort to stop forward-going motion and maintain balance. This looked perhaps a bit like someone with bad hips but adding the little backwards swing after a step forward would be even more accurate! Altogether a great video, thanks!

I think you are confused. Ataxia is a symptom and can be caused by many things, most commonly damage or impairment of the cerebellum i.e. cerebellar ataxia
