I don't know 2000 to 2010 was pretty fucking epic too
@Gjallarhorn84Ай бұрын
@@thatstrami not as epic as the 90s when everything was coming up for the first time ever , for exemple : first trance hymns and Eurodance classics in history that no other songs can top them today, it was the real deal in that era , the 2000s were a shity transition for many DJs who started doing horrible trendy stuff, very few ones remained faithful to their roots like PVD, even in clubs the atmosphere was not the same anymore , it was okay, but the dreamy feelings were no more, by the end of the 2000s I was done with clubs
@roberttranceedm19 күн бұрын
@@Gjallarhorn84 " the 2000s were a shitty transition " --- you remember timelines very differently from the actual facts. The real shitty transition started in late 2010s and went into 2020s (past years) really awful, mainly thanks to Armin and his Armada label collections and their war on good taste. The 2000s gave a huge amount of incredible melodic Trance tunes, for god's sakes! Hell, this tune here, 9PM was nearly in 2000 (October 1998, plus the time needed for the album Movin' Melodies to become known and epic everywhere from 1999 to 2000s).

I was born in 1970. Everyone goes on about how great the 80s were and sure, I can think of some specific things that give me a nice sense of nostalgia. But the 90s, man. That was it. 90s were the best, no question. Wish I could time-travel with my wife now and go through the 90s again but with her.

I remember when it was first released on MoS’s new Data Records vinyl-only off shoot in the UK, in March 1999. It charted at #68, which was impressive for just a 12” sales at the time. Due to there being no CD Single, people started buying the German and Australian import CD Singles, so it charted a couple of separate times in the UK Top 75 in May/June. MoS then released it on their Sound Of Ministry main label in July, which then charted straight in at #1. The vocal is by Spanish model Yolanda Riviera, lifted from a TV appearance she’d made earlier in the year. He seems like a genuinely decent guy, respect Andre! Great video DJ Mag!

The song came out when I was at the climax of my DJ career. I performed like every 2nd night and some tracks had to be played every night over and over again, sometimes a couple of times per night. When you hear songs dozens of times each week and you are forced to play them, they usually get boring. But not this one. I still enjoy listening to it after all these years. The pitch bend is classic, it was copied hundreds of times BUT no one did it as intense and nice as ATB. Thank you for this great piece of club history…
