it’s totally depends on machine pmc ladder logic or machine function.not every machine have same function.

There are a lot of machines that do not have an ATC recovery button nor do they have a routine that can be easily accessed. As Gurjinder said, it totally depends on the machine tool builder. Rather than trusting the recovery routine I would have removed the tools as a precaution and then recovered the arm.

I think you need to check orientation of tool before tool change ,if orientation not ok then tool will not locate in ATC arm
