I want to share with you guys. First of all i don't know the detail because IM Javanese, but i know a little bit. this is the history of husband and wife, King of Bali married Princess of China, so they lived in Kintamani. When you travel to Kintamani you would see a Balinese Temple with a Chinese temple (called Klenteng in Indonesia) in the inside. Because of this in Kintamani you would see a people with Chinese face but the skin tone a bit dark like Indonesian, Malaysian, and Filipino. The detail of the story you can check at history book

The story is old story in thousands years ago about Balinese king who married with princes from China. So that's why some culture in Indonesia it's almost similar with Chinese culture, because some of Kings in this land married with the Princesses from China in long time ago.

For you guys who curious why there's a Chinese culture in this Bali Agung Show, show this is actually history about King Jayapangus when he met his wife, later to be the queen of Bali. Her name Kang Cing Wi from China. their legacy are now preserved in Balinese "Barong Landung" or "High Barong". This is why it is very common in Balinese Hindu temple you can see "Kelenteng" or Chinese temple inside. It also common in Bali, there's a myth that Balinese guy cannot marry Chinese woman, while Chinese man still can Marry Balinese woman. then after the married of the King & Queen, followed by the other inter-racial marriage between other Chinese men which came together with group of Kang Cing Wi and his father, with balinese women. Their descendasts are now mostly live in Kintamani. That's why, if you visit Kintamani, you see Chinese face with brighter skin and pink cheek of the local people in Kintamani.

FYI This story tells us about the Chinese aculturation in Bali called Balingkang. When the King of Bali falling in love with the Chinese Queen. So, the costume, property and the background were influenced by Chinese culture. Miss Grand International is one of great platform that able to showcasing the Balinese Culture.
