new pipe sounds fantastic when compared to the factory unit. very deep and throaty. you can hear it thumping along a couple of blocks away.as for an increase in performance i would say yes. nothing striking but you can tell its a bit more gutsy. to sum up if you want a trip back to the sixties -this is the bike. it's no cafe racer ( but royal enfield has one on the drawing board) BUT BOY IT GET ATTENTION!

Answers - I have C5 with the same or similar less restricted exhaust. That and a few other tweaks gives it something like 34bhp, ballpark same as a std Venom, similar looks too. Torque is 41Nm, which is a lot. Modern 12V electrics means the lights work. Big disc brake up front. It is a big single thumper so it vibrates but not a problem. It is 187kg, over 1/4 ton/ne with rider, so not a bike for the novice. Nice bike, I must get a clock ;)

hi i'd say its a pretty good bike for the price. you have old world styling with up to date fuel injection - electric/kick start the electric start kicks first time every time and i'm finding it a great little cruiser at the 80kph mark. once i get a couple of thousand klms it should cruise at a comfortable 100kph. furtherist i've ridden it is about 130klm in one run.

as a beginner would this bike be a good lams bike? ive looked at the kawasaki ninja 300 as my other option, but i cant get how damn cool this bike is out of my head.. would it be wise to buy one new or used? im thinking used and i am seeing a few around for about 8000-9000. what do you think. a good bike for beginners? any recommendations on where to buy?

The vibrations are part of it's character. Live with it or not! If you want to ride a sowing machine than buy a four cylinder and keep the stock exhaust.
