I was waiting for him to show up. He promised me he would meet me here so we could talk about everything that had happened. I let out a deep sigh. Maybe he wouldn’t come after all? After everything I couldn’t say I blamed him. Was I crazy for thinking he would want anything to do with me after my....secret had been revealed? I pulled out my phone it’s brightness nearly blinding me as look at the time. 20 minutes had already passed? Time flies. I pulled up the jacket I had wore to cover my skimpy dress. I’m leaving I don’t need this. On my way out I saw him he looked flushed and tired. “I’m so sorry I’m late I....lost track of time.” I noticed his messy hair,loose tie...and the lipstick stain on his neck. I met his eyes. He looked away. “So this is it huh?”

"yeah" i rolled my eyes. *who was i to stoop this low?* i can't believe i did this to myself. i was hurt, my eyes stung and my throat collapsing, i felt like i was being choked. but it all felt very despicable, and i started to laugh. i started laughing like a maniac -- high, sharp gasps for air. "what... what's wrong? why are you laughing" he met my gaze at him. "because you look so pathetic. i mean you're here to meet me, looking like that? you've changed." i look him up and down, chuckle, and turn towards the door. my pace sped up as i heard his footsteps following me, "where are you going? i thought we were supposed to talk this out?" *i don't want to see you*. i kept walking, and slowed as i reached the door to the stairwell below. i paused, and turn to meet his eyes, sparkling with sadness, glossed in guilt. i looked at him for a few seconds, the wind brushing off my tears and them shattering on the floor. i embraced the wind once more, looked down and then back up at him. "i don't want you, and i never will. take care." i slammed the door behind me. the only comfort i felt that night was the wind brushing against my face. it was bitter, cold, and it told me one thing: in this world i live in, i'll always be alone.
