Actually Jongho breaks apples and other fruits for fun and to establish his dominance 24/7 lol jk he is freaky strong tho and being a fruit ninja is just his thing. Think he did a cantaloupe and watermelon too. Wooyoung ( Ateez) , Changbin (SKZ) , and Yeonjun ( TXT) being best friends is a multi-stan dream. This song is basically saying it's not cool to be a hateful or mean person and being humble and kind is how to really be cool.

I'm so glad you reacted to this. Regarding the part with the chickens and Hongjoong standing in the field of rice, the lyrics are saying "as it ripens/as we mature, bend more" and it's referring to an old Korean saying that says "rice bends as it ripens". So he's talking about how even as they get bigger and more popular they will get even more humble. And you'll see 멋 = "the Real /cool" all around performance: after the sweeping part when Jongho points with the broom to 멋, When Jongho stands to all the colorful mics forming 멋, when Wooyoung is solo dancing camera pans to the floor which draws 멋, The puppet theatre also changes letters to 멋, and etc - basically them saying "what's cool is/ the real deal is - being humble and kind, that's what it means to be cool/Real". And you'll hear San, Seonghwa and Yunho all say in their satoori/dialect "this is what cool /real is" (staying true to their origin/truth/who they are and being humble and kind). the stage was very creative and they delivered it perfectly. PS: The banners that list other groups' logos say those groups did great and invited them to eat meat together after Kingdom. ""Kingdomz (groups participating on KD) you did a great job. tonight's dinner is beef" in Busan satoori.

The Real!! I love this performance from Ateez. It was one of my favorites in Kingdom. Just to be clear, the lyrics are hard to understand if you don't know Korean culture. The song is basically telling people that it's not cool to be a hater - being arrogant and flapping your chops about how great you are in comparision to others. Staying humble and kind is actually what's stylish and cool. In a nutshell it's real talk. I love it! Ateez is having a comeback on July 29th with their song Guerrilla! The performance preview for this song is out. You guys should totally check it out. It's so cool! Loved your reaction to them! By the way, the intro song on this performance is Ateez's song The Leaders. You should check that song and their song To the Beat out. So good!!!

My interpretation to "lower your pants" phrase, there's meaning to it, I think it's a double meaning. Literally lowering your pants as a fashion style, and also meaning you can do your own thing/style/different, but what more important is the next phrase "but the step not dum di dum dum di dum" for me the meaning is dum di dum= Dumb, a play of words. so the conclusion is just like what Ateez is trying to say as a whole in the MV, you can do your own thing, be different, BUT keep being humble, kind, don't be arrogant, or dumb. Keep your moral compass and respect each others.

'Lower your pants' it's about schoolers that used to wear abnormally big pants that they kinda tied up around the chest so they wont fall, to be like against the rules in school, to look badass, well and to intimidate others too. There were lots of hooligans back then and they had those like distinctive features in the way they wore clothes or in the way they stylied their hair. So he was refering to those ones, like follow the rules in school, don't try to be a nasty person and there's nothing gansta and cool in pants so high, because the coolness is not in bullying, not in the looks, but in humble and kindness. 'Lower your pants more, but the steps' is like: be polite and respectful, but never slow down your pace. Also 'frown your brows more, but bow at 90 degrees' means that you should kinda stay polite even if you don't agree with circumstances. Like, you can be angry and all that, but still behave yourself. it is also the reason they started the performance with a piece of 'The Leaders', saying 'bad things are bad, you know?' I very much enjoyed your video, thank you!

Hongjoong was the first member I noticed from Ateez from their Wonderland performance in Kingdom as well. He was wearing the fur coat and I swear he reminds me so much of GD.

Rather than being directed to haters, it's more directed to everyone including younger fans who look up to them. It's kind of like brotherly advice. 멋 is a Korean word without a direct English equivalent--real, style, and cool are attempts to catch the meaning, but it has an underlying idea of honor, so it's about how what's really cool/stylish is to be humble, respectful*, and kind. *Bowing is one way Koreans show respect which is why there was a lot of bowing and sayings like lower your head and bend down as you mature. I think the soggy ramen line is like saying, it doesn't take any time to be humble and respectful--your ramen won't even get soggy in the time it takes to do it. Jongho went viral pre-debut for belting high notes while breaking apples with his bare hands. I think they had him do it at the end to suggest they're going to stay humble by always remembering where they came from. Fun fact: Korean has multiple dialects with the Seoul dialect being the standard--it's what Korean language learners are taught. In the song when the music stops, the member speaks in his dialect (most Ateez members are from the countryside but have been trained to speak Seoul dialect in their content), kind of like if someone spoke with a southern drawl and the next person spoke with a Jersey accent. Since Mingi was on hiatus during Kingdom, ATEEZ released the Heung version of The Real as a title track to a recent album. They added a lot of Korean instruments, Mingi's rap, and an incredible video created by Digipedi. It's seriously a movie. I hope you'll react to it. You could also read the lyrics to The Leaders (starting with Wooyoung's whisper part) since it was the introduction to this performance. Also, the MV for ATEEZ's Guerilla drops the 29th--the performance preview is lit! Thanks for the reaction!

Thanks for reacting to this! My favorite kingdom performance is The Awakening of Summer by Ateez. Iconic. You should watch it! Also! As far as I know “The Real” incorporates traditional Korean instruments, just like how the lyrics and the meaning of the song is very connected to Korean culture. So I think that’s what you meant by the Egyptian sound you heard 😊 You should check out the official music video! It’s insane! Literally a whole movie.
