1:34 Hagel's VA is back!! Also Gerhard's. I'm definitely instantly recognizing him! What I'm the most excited for: the return of 2D character artworks in an Atelier game. I recently replayed Totori, my favorite Atelier, and gosh, those were the times. And now with Motion Portrait/Live2D amping things up! Always a pleasure since Trinity Universe. I also love the font of the subtitle "Atelier Marie Remake ~The Alchemist of Salburg~" being the same one used for regular text in Arland for example. So retro, so Atelier, so good. A detail, I know, but... I'm the kind of fan who appreciates that! "Hire companions before heading out" YES!! Please make it like earlier Ateliers when we had to go talk to them and select the option "Invite" in order to have them in our party!! In Atelier Totori, even if you already had Melvia in your party, when she officially becomes available to recruit, they actually REMOVE her from your party (and give you a notice), and you have to talk to her and select Invite to get her back in your party! Call me crazy, but that's the kind of old-school I love. Ooooh the ability to choose between timed objective and unlimited exploration!! Now that's awesome! The best to date for me was Firis with how it is split between timed objective in the first half of the game and unlimited exploration in the second half, but putting the ability to choose between the two is the surefire way to make everyone happy. Awesome move. "I'm done saving the world!" Hahaha I so love that. The anti-JRPG. I guess that's one of the things setting Atelier apart! It's not about saving the world, but more relaxed and comfy. Still with a lot of character depth/backstory/development. I'll never say it enough, Gust is the king of character depth! And heart-warming messages, and love, and... Anyway, Gust saiko! Also "Alcohol Reference" on the rating, ohoho, I know where this is going... :D Ceci literally drinking 40 beers in Atelier Totori, Firis and her bestie drinking the strongest drink ON THE DAY they became legal age of drinking in Atelier Lydie & Suelle... I wonder what it will be in Marie :DDD And I know I will be here to follow up on it. Please make us able to brew drinks like in Totori. Cheers to all those who know what I'm talking about...🍺 (Anchobeer) Very excited for this old-school Atelier remake. My chance to play one of the old ones that I've been missing on! (I only started playing them all starting from Rorona - unless we count Mana Khemia)

Thank you so much Gust and KT for this! I have been playing the series since Atelier Iris and have always wanted to play the ones that never came to North America. Hopefully you will make remakes of the other games we didn't get. I would love a physical release, but I am fine with digital since I will finally be able to play the game! the game will get a USA version just NOT with ENGLISH Audio/Voice acting only the in game TEXT will be in English the voices for the English version will still be in Japanese only with subtitles using the actors FROM the original 1997 game in Japan.

Atelier games are mostly slice-of-life kind of games with simple plot in a simple universe. Don't expect to defeat great evils or saving the universe, Final Fantasy style.

I think there’s going to be a US physical release. If you go to their US website and scroll to the bottom, you’ll see a disclaimer that states that the PS4 physical versions can upgrade to the PS5 digital version at no additional cost.

Despite getting a remake of the first alchemist lady in the west, it's going to be Japanese audio only yet again. I'm so tired of Atelier games not getting dubbed anymore. It's still one of Koei Tecmo's worst decisions to this day.

Can't believe how stupid some people can be, since this cuts out a good chunk of the market that wants dubs. That includes me as well, so they're not getting my money ever again. I was a longtime supporter of Atelier and bought every English release that had dubs up to Firis, which was the last title that had one. Haven't bought an Atelier game since and I could care less at this point.

It’s probably to keep it true to the spirit of the original game, which had chibi sprites for the gameplay, and standard proportions for the character dialogue art. I personally prefer the look of the original sprites, and feel like it loses a lot of the charm in the move to 3D. But I can definitely see what they were going for.

I love Atelier games to death and was very interested when I heard they were remaking an earlier title but the chibi art style is a huge turn off for me, too bad but I will have to pass on this one.

@@neidhardt8093 I do, I have played every game since Rorona, each series so far have a distinct art style and overall unique aesthetic, the chibi art style clashes too much with that trend plus I have never been a fan of the big heads so I feel alienated and I dare to guess Im not the only one who feels that way... Not too worried tho,with a proper Atelier title coming soon( Ryza 3)
