No, dont do it this way. If you want the best tools you have to go all the way to the second Effect 1 (deeper in the chain) and use the essense on that one.. then you get a higher level version, than the one he shows u in the video.. its called capable chapping, and u can only get it buy using essense on the second effect 1 node. so dont use this short cut, or your gonna have to do it all again later when u want s type materials. Also, u can use a max of 3 essense per synth. so use 1 to get capable cutting and the other to get xl gathering or mining or whatever the tool asks for.. all my tools are maxed out with capable instead of proper, and my ring rope know works everywhere and even the secret locations..

Good guide, but in Midgame, a Waste of Essence, and heavy lost of much Items in gathering. Unlock all Normaly on the way, til Expert chopping, and Gathering Up L, then use an Esscene on Gathering Up L, to Unlock Gathering Up XL, when you have not enugh Quantity at the end to Unlock L, Or XL,, it's not a Problem, create the Item, go to item Rebuild, and there you can Unlock it very time afterwards. Expert Chopping and Gathering Up XL is the best for the rest of your Game, and try your best to reach the highes quality you can make, but it is not as important as the two effects and keep it in mind, you can build up the Quality afterwards in "item Rebuild". i have learnd it on myself in the Hard way, i make the mistake to only make gathering Up L, and the items quantity in gathering is too low on this.

When you go to synthesis, you know when you add item to the spots? Itll show an icon on the circle to the top left and it looks like a little drop bottle and its dripping, press (SQUARE/X) depending on your console, and itll bring up an essence menu. You first need to make essence for it to come up

you added a note saying quality matters, what impact does quality have on gathering tools? and do traits matter?

Traits will let you add traits to the items after synthesizing it, you sometimes add traits but they are locked so this will let you add more (you can unlock the traits after rebuilding the item). As for the Quality, its for the quality of the items you gather with this tool. -MD

@@MuradZero sorry I wasn't clear. Is there any reason to add traits to a gathering tool. So if my axe is say quality 100 I'll get better items than if it's at 50?

From the tutorials it seems it helps as you attack the monsters with it to start a fight which will also give you and advantage. Will update you with more details if i learn more. -MD

@@MuradZero the only reason traits and quality matter for gathering tools is for when you want to use it as a material. for example look on the tree when you see something like (add gas) or (add fuel). if you unlock those effects you can now use that specific tool as a substitute for gas/fuel material loops on any items or gear. To sum it up, basically any item has the potential to be used as a synth material. The game doesn't hold your hand much but it is fun to discover things like this lol

You can get in barrel in East side map in valley of winds - glass flower forest area, also medical farm shop sell it after you give mordenite item to romy development shop than you can buy it from that shop, hope this helped you - SD

You use essences. you use the essence on the loops that have the highest effect (expert cutting, gathering up L, etc...)

you will be given a chance to reload before final boss or start new game+, if you reload before final boss then a new secret boss will be unlocked and you can continue with all other unfinished side quests etc .-MD

There is an extra effect called „expert chopping“ with the Gold axe you need to get there manually
