I liked the part where you explained the MD-MBA program. As a Certified Public Accountant, who now also wants to enter medical school, I think some of the higher-ups in the Public Health system are lacking knowledge in the management of resources (e.g. Drug inventory management, efficient allocation of resources). This video inspired me more to pursue medical school, thanks!

The best part of the video is you quoted kuya Gio na “sometimes you have to experience to know if you want it or not” because my undergrad is BS Accountancy and before i enter college I really really wanna go to med school but my mom can’t afford it so i stick to a business course and do better. And last year while working as a accounting clerk i saw a pubmats from CEM na open na yung registration for NMAT 2019 and sabi ko if i get 90% percentage ill go to med school but if not ill take MBA for sure but after a month lumabas na yung result and i got 90+ plus percentage. So i realized na maybe this is my calling. :) Thank you Gio! You always inspire me sa mga vidz mo and sobrang lapit ko lang sa AMSPH lagi ko syang nakikita.

Being sporty in medschool is really cool not only for you but also for everyone. Being active physically in sports helps us think clearly, to strategized efficiently and to keep us going. Being physically healthy would somehow contribute to our mental health. I want this to emphasize to every student especially medstudents out there no matter what school are you. We all have the same struggles, and we should be taking care of ourselves mentally as much as how we take care of our body. That’s really cool bro! Thank you for including your sport activity in your vlog. By the way its been weeks since I followed you. You showed to us another perspective of being a medstudent the chill vibe way 👌🏻🤟🏻

The best part of the video was when you asked what was the best slide you've viewed so far was, and that girl in the background said, "Me, I'm the best slide." She'll definitely get far in life.

I liked the part where you shared your sleepless nights in med school, I think its something attached to studying medicine already, the fact that there will be times where you'll feel burned out but would refuse to sleep and rest because you can't afford to waste time by doing so, hahaha

Hi kuya/doc! The part where you mentioned about what have you given up for med school interests me the most. It gave me a glimpse of reality in med school that there will be times that I have sacrifice other things in order to study. It inspired me to continue to learn how to manage my priorities and how I will balance my acads life and social life while studying. I hope you can share more about this and how you manage your time for studying, for your friends and family, and for yourself. Thank you so much, it was a very informative and entertaining content. More blessings!

Not only I liked what you shared about anatomy class, I was also informed by how 'cadaver' was usually pronounced. Ganun palaaa hahaha. Anyways. I was interested to your first anatomy class. It has been a significant phase to every med student I can say. I am still in my prep course (nursing) while three of my roomies are in med school already and they also shared their experience. Jeeezz, mann. How thrilling it was if I were to be in their place. Hopefully I'll be in med school soon! Keep up the vlog! I enjoyed it! :D

Hello po Doc Gio! best part for me yung histology part hahaha. Im a medtech student and i can remember when we had our grand practicals which is cover to cover. I got a very low grades becuase i had a hard time identifying the given tissue and puro primary ovarian follicle lang sinasagot ko(i think reproductive system po ata yung topic namin that time) and i feel like super behind ko that time. Luckily, i did pass that subject and looking back nakakatawa na lang siya ngayon!! Thanks for insipiring me and i hope makapagmed din ako. Good luck, doc!

I know med school is difficult and stressful but I admire your positive and somehow “chill/anxiety- reducing” portrayal of it in your vlogs. And thats a good thing! Challenging siya for sure but your vlogs make it depict na kaya din naman siyang ma- accomplish. And it seems that you really enjoyed med school! BTW, I’m a Nurse so I’m expected to go to med school after college but went to law school instead and became a Lawyer last year. At some point, gusto kong mag med school after passing the bar exams and after watching your content, parang gusto ko siyang ipursue talaga 😅 Good job bro!!

Me and my grand mother enjoyed watching your Vlogs kuya Gio. My most favorite part is where you talked about kuya guard. I am kind of student who admires how passionate guards on their jobs. Actually I call all the guards of our school "Kuya chief and Ate chief". I love how ASMPH value their guards as family as well. No Atenista left behind! 💙 ASMPH IS NOW MY FIRST CHOICE AS MY MED SCHOOL SOMEDAY!💙 I am currently taking Bs Psychology, Same tayo ng premed 🤣 God bless to you and to your channel!

I wouldn’t say “best” since this video was really entertaining and somewhat relatable even though I’m a med student from another institution. In short, amazing content. But I was kind of amazed of your class schedule. 8 am start of classes then 1 hour break then classes are dismissed at 5? Mapapa “sanaol” ka talaga 😂. Our class kasi starts at 7:30 am until 12:30 followed by a 30 minute lunch break tas afternoon classes resume at 1pm until 7pm and almost always, there are makeup classes at 8pm and/or during saturdays 😅. True that it is exhausting but the drive to get those 2 letters at the end of our names after this long and trying journey gets us going. More power, Doc!

iirc somewhere between gr 7-10 our teachers mentioned that when you say you're an atenean, it doesnt just mean that you study in ateneo. it can also mean that you hold ateneo's value's so you can be american but still be an atenean, if you follow the atenean values, and that even the custodians are ateneans because they themselves are part of the ateneo community

Im always hyped up whenever I see or watch someone from med school that took Psych as pre-med. I feel like I have someone I can look up to once I enter med. Anyway, sobrang relatable nung sinabi mo about why Psychology hahaha. I guess it's a common advice yung take Psychology if you are undecided what you wanted in future. Because same thing happened to me and some of my batchmates. Hahaha. But I didnt regret it, because I really fell in love with Ab psych and Biopsych. It became one of the reasons why I want to pursue med (of course, aside from practicum). Btw, I have a question, how many prereq subjects did you take before magenroll sa ASMPH? Can I also ask how much per unit at ADMU? hahhaha. Honestly, if I didnt stumble on your med vlogs last month, ASMPH would not be on the list of med schools that I am eyeing for. Now, it became my top priority school hahaha sana makapasa ako. Im actually nervous and excited at the same time. Thank you po for making vlogs. Super nakakamotivate 😊

I don’t remember the units exactly but I remember na sinakto ko lang yung number of units needed per science subject na requirement for asmph :) and sorry I don’t know the cost per unit in asmph! Good luck wit your med journey I hope you get accepted and choose asmph if it’s really for you!

Best part was the Histology part! Doc Gio knows to himself that his batchmates are far more than knowledgeable than him, given he's from the psychology field, yet he always brought his A Game! Kudos! This reminded me of a quote from Dumbledore of the famous Harry Potter Series: "It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities."

3 mins in this vlog I stopped watching it and went for Reality According to Me. Ang galing, hands down, emotionally charged in a great way. As someone whose dream school ang ASMPH but didn't choose to go in (had to choose master's), but still want to go in sometime in the future (IDK if before or after PhD), it's an interesting glimpse for non med students to get a bit of daily life stories. Great portrayal of Miles din doc!

I find it odd when your classes in undergrad studies started at late in the morning to 3pm and you are not used to it in medschool. Back then, during my time as an undergrad student, the longest schedule of classes i've had was on junior year, from 8am to 9 or 10 pm continuously (around four times a week), this is bec. our profs. use our free time to catch up and do make-up classes. It may be mentally draining and generally unhealthy but that experience has given me advantage in medschool somehow. Hahaha

@@GioIlagan I think worse pa yung clerkship and PGIship schedule of duties. hahaha and also, I was amazed about how you confidently say that you are reading transes before 8am class sa school (Im not sure if this vlog mo ba yun or the other vlogs of yours). Are the transes there in ASMPH provided by the faculty? or is it like called "Pamana" from the higher classes or batches? kasi here in our school we have transes but secretly given from higher batches and we are not allowed to bring it in school or even mention it during SGDs or casually talk about it sa corridors haha, it's the worst thing to do. Idk maybe it's intended lang for faculty use only.
