I picked up one of these up as well and really like it. I am more looking forward to what it can do down the road especially in the added art area as coinops is gone compared to bitpixel art. I only have one gripe on the current software which is that it doesn't inform you if you are up to date on firmware or resources. Both options continue to be available even after you've updated both which allows you to do them again. Overall this feels like a solid product and worth the $250 price I paid.

I was just about to haul my Legends Ultimate to the curb when I saw the bit about holding player 2 for 5 seconds to get out of bluetooth mode, to get the CP working. I was going to get this display on NOD, but that's about the time I noticed my CP not working, so I had to start thinking about options. Couldn't find a replacement CP on AtGames' site, so I figured it was just time to send the ALU to the land fill. VERY glad I watched this vid. I do have the BitPixcel, but with CoinopsX misbehaving, and other issues, like audio lag, I modded mine with a Pi, and a little smaller LCD panel a while back. I might go back to the ALU asset if they ever fix some stuff and things. Thanks for sharing this.

BitLCD arrived today, and I've updated the firmware, and am awaiting the update of the resources. Firmware update went well. really appreciate the step by step instructions. Eventually, I'll reconfigure for both the panels to be running on the ALU. :)

I think this looks really cool. Having a multicade that displays the marquee of the actual game instead of a generic multicade banner is a major win. The BitPixel never did it for me because it was just too chunky. I wish the bezel was red instead of black, but that's only because in my 90s teen mind, all multicades should be NeoGeo red.

Thanks again for yet another informative video. I have not yet ordered the BitLCD but will upgrade eventually. I am curious since you've updated to 5.67 if you are encountering an issue with Player 1 Y and Z buttons? Mine don't work and Atgames says they know about the issue and developers are working on it. I have not seen anyone else mention this issue. Since it really only affects those who play the 6 button fighting games it may go unnoticed.

Hi PDubs. I added the BitLCD and love it and the power"T" connection from AtGames in the back cover and did not like that it being exposed. So I removed the board from the back cover and reinstalled to the side {inside} of the cab with a couple of spacers that I got from Amazon and screws plug power into the board on the inside of cab and I don't have the"T"connector on the outside and don't have to worry about it getting damaged. So I did add a utility switch in lower back cover to turn the ALU off/on which is wired with a power strip on the inside of cab that has all my power connections. I did leave the ethernet plug connector still in the back cover. It would be a nice KZbin video showing how to do this and you would be great to show how to. Thanks for the great video.

Looks good. Makes me disappointed the BitPixel HV was left out of the last NOD sales. Obviously that doesn't use LCD images, but for pinball I think that's fine. Regardless, I'm glad for everyone waiting for this it finally came out.

PDubs, I love this concept. I have something similar in my ArcadeModUp Donkey Kong machine. Thankfully, the one I have was only $99 and much easier install :P (I wish this AtGames install could've been more streamline). Still, DUDE! This is an AMAZING addition to your cabinet. Now we just need Arcade1up to build their 50 in 1 Capcom cab with an OLED version of this. With HAPP joysticks and buttons at $599 and... Ok, back to reality :) vgv

Just wanted to add, sorry if I missed it. If you plug your old Led into the extra port on the LCD included usb hub it works and frees up the front one. So you can hang it on the wall or something.

Great Video. I followed it step by step, very meticulously, and was able to get everything installed and updated. Was able to scroll through a handful of games and the marquee looked AMAZING! Immediately after those 2 wonderful minutes, I've been having issues with my control panel not responding. Even when I do the 2P trick upon startup, it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. I'm wondering if the USB hub they included is faulty?

The reason they are like that is that if you resize actual marquees to 1920x360 most of them end up looking stretched.

Excellent review! Just recently learned that the Legends Ultimate has Operation Wolf with officially licensed side art!!! When the bitlcd is plugged in my joystick and joystick and all buttons don't work. When the bitlcd I plugged in, it makes the blue lights next to the power button flash fast

Some constructive criticisms: the barrel splitter does not fit on the inside of the 1.0 cab, had to put it on the outside. After almost two years of waiting, you would think that they would have had art for all of the included games, they. do. not. Otherwise it looks great, was built like a tank and I didn’t have any dead pixels or anything, so overall I’m happy with the purchase.

I’ve watched three instructional videos on how to set up the BitLCD software and was told 3 different ways. The last video I saw said to not have your Coinops USB drive plugged in while installing the BitLCD software. seen another video that says to run Addonx without my coinopsx usb. Seen another video that doesn’t even mention addonx. Atgames failed at providing official instructions for the software installation. This is getting beyond frustrating. Especially since I can’t find any instructional videos that are specifically for the 1.2 ALU.

When I try to update the resources it doesn't get past like 85% it takes like 2 hours and then it says it times out. I have tried this multiple times wired internet and Wireless different USB flash drive. Any idea I have contacted at games just waiting for response.

@BuffNY420 - exact same thing happened to me tonight. I'm sitting at the screen where it tells you to wait for it to reboot and the BITLCD screen has gone to a blank image. I can see it cycling off and on every few minutes, but the screen won't recover. After 20 minutes I tried to redo it, but it won't let me update the firmware a second time, or install the resources. I'm also waiting for a response from At Games support. Good luck to you, and please share what you hear back from them and I'll do the same.

@BuffNY420 and @PDubs - Just to follow up on this, At Games got back to me with a process to reformat the hard drive and copy the img file from my PC and put it on the USB drive, and to try again. It did not work, however I did go out and get a different USB stick and follow the process a second time and it worked perfectly. Hope you're able to get a resolution as well.

Its hard to find anything wrong with this because its so cool but i will try. I think the price is kinda high. Love to see it at $200. The black boarder around it seems to thick. Would like to see it with a thin boarder and they could make the screen slightly bigger that way. They should of included a USB drive with it. USB drives are so cheap it would be a nice convenience to include it. Install should be way easier. It should be one or two clicks to get it updated and running. What a great product and vid. I will defiantly get one when it goes on sale.

I figured out I should have chosen FDX to install Bit LCD. But now, when I go to update Bit LCD, it errors out and says to confirm that I have installed a FAT32 formatted U disk into USB slot 2 (I have my coinopsX memory stick in the far right USB-3.0 port).

I downloaded one of the packs in your other video that had 7600+ marquees and my BitLCD is ordered and in the mail still. Can I upload the marquees onto my USB or do I need to do the BitLCD resources/folder setup while its in the BitLCD first? Otherwise, if the marquees in the packs are already better and there are more of them, do I just delete the one that the BitLCD programs creates when it is plugged in the ATGames unit and then just put the folder from the downloaded file instead?

I just received the BitLCD and performed all the steps to set it up but I can't get past the BitLCD install. I keep getting a "USB Fail. Please mount USC disk from Flash Drive X" error message. I'm using a SanDisk 32GB USB 3.1 Flash Drive and even tried other flash drives and I keep getting the same error message. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Do you think the BitLCD is defective?

I have an ALU 1.0 and installed the BitLCD. The power adapter only fits on the outside of the cabinet. Also, the usb cable needs to connect to the usb port on the front port of the cabinet. It does not look good with these cables sticking out of my cabinet. I am also having issues when I power everything on. (My system will not start up with everything connected.) I have to start up my ALU and then connect the BitLCD USB cable and power cable. I hope someone makes a video showing the install of the BitLCD on an ALU 1.0 so I can see if there is a better way or if I have defective hardware/components. Thanks for the video, as always.

PDubs you are so important to the At Games community, thank you so much for all you do. I was wondering if you knew why ALU 1.0 users are told to run cables outside the cabinet and why we are told to skip all the steps that involve taking off the back panel. I just got my BitLCD and I have a 1.0 and I am unsure about proceeding with the install because it seems I have to run all cabling outside the cabinet. I did want to put the Thumbdrive outside like you suggested and I did buy that ribbon cable you linked to but it seems like the instructions have me running everything else outside too. Just wondering why the difference, I am not familiar with the changes made to the 1.1

Working on this for about 6 months now, multiple returns and refunds. Never got the lcd to power up. Are you sure this still works? I got it directly from at games and no luck

In rewatching most of these videos I see that they are all on the 1.0 and 1.1 cabinets. After chatting with support and doing more research there is a different procedure. You have to format and put an image file on the usb drive that is connected to the bit legends lcd. Otherwise no connected on the Lengends ultimate 1.2. After that its off to the races. Opening up the control deck I also noticed that they have octagonal joystick thingamajigs now. Score!
