Solid review. I'm researching the mini for dedicated vertically oriented games, and the info you provided shows that it wouldn't really offer any advantage in screen size over the regular Legends Ultimate. Very helpful.

Missed out on sam's club half off the full size cab, so I grabbed the mini for 200 while I still could. Should be fun!

In Canada the Mini is currently $699 and the Ultimate full size is $899.

thank you for the review. this was exactly the detail i was looking for, as i own the ALU1.1 and was also looking for something to serve as a dedicated vertical multi-cade. sadly, like you, i don't see the value based on the fact you don't actually get any more screen with the vertical option above the ALU1.1 itself. so, this is a no for me, but if i didn't already own the ALU1.1 i might consider it.

I hate how the marquee has a limited light area. I wish they fixed that from the full size. I want to have a dedicated vertical for shooters

This unit definitely looks like a better fit, for the 3/4 scale arcade enthusiast. However, I think AtGames really fumbled the ball on the control deck. All they had to do was use the layout from the arcade deck, from the LUP, which has stick, trackball, and I think 6 buttons, and then the trackball would double as the spinner, for the tempest like games. I think it's pointless to rotate the monitor, for the arcade games, as there's no difference in size of vertical games, played either way. However, where this unit will shine, is with the pinball tables. In vertical mode, you definitely get a massive size boost, for the tables. So, I think this unit, as is, is best suited as a single player fighter, and pinball cabinet. Sure wish AtGames would release a monitor upgrade, for the original LU, to play the pinball games, like this. By the way, was there any audio lag, on this cabinet? Thanks for sharing.

This is not for me. I have an ALU and ALP. The only reason I would consider this would be for vertical Tempest. I’d rather have an ALP control panel with a spinner and a trackball.

I just ordered the ALU Mini for $300 plus tax and shipping, about $341. What is the easiest way to add games? Not sure I want to deal with figuring out Coinops, or something technical.

thanks for review I think I'm going to pass on this I bought the control panel for my Legends pinball and I think I'll just play vertical games on that, and buy the games I really like on my iircade where they look a lot better

This sounds like a case of "does many things well, but doesn't excel at any one thing". I can see the appeal for those who don't want the bigger Legends Ult or Legends Pinball.

I will not be playing 2 player games, this looks more head on than the ultimate where you play on the side. I also hate trackballs

Never a fan of the shape. It would be better if it was more an iconic shape based on an original arcade cab. Always remember MichaelB , you dont work for no one. b e you.

Yeah none of these arcade companies with their original designs built something off a real cab. It has the same shape really as the ALU so if you don't like that this isn't any better
