Athangudi tiles are named after the village where they are originated:- Athangudi Village. This village is located in Chettinad area of Tamilnadu. That’s why these are called “ Chettinad Tiles ” also.
Another name of these tiles:- Chettinad Tiles Or KaraiKudi Tiles
Athangudi tiles, which is made by cement, yet counts as an eco-friendly product. To know why, please watch the video completely.
Athangudi tiles, a handmade tile, which is made by cement. These tiles looks like mosaic but these are not machine-pressed & no chemical is being used in making these tiles. These tiles looks very beautiful unique. Locally-available material like sand, oxides & cement is being used to make these tiles.
What is special about Athangudi tiles…. These are made by hand and dried over time. No machine or any kind of burning is required to make these tiles. These tiles are economical also also… if being used locally. What does it mean, Please check out the video.
Maintenance & care is also very simple for these tiles. I have explained the care & maintenance in the video thoroughly.
These tiles are made over glass surface. That’s why these tiles have a very unique glaze. Which increase by the time. Athangudi tiles don’t need any kind of polishing generally, but you can polished them, if you want. But this process is also very different & no machine is required to polish them.
Athangudi tiles or chettinad tiles are a result of a practice which is more than 100 years old. These tiles hold a heritage of India & increasing the employment by doing hand work.

Namaste. Can they be laid onto already existed flooring like natural stones such as limestone marble or sandstone, etc. ? Also if doing so, is using a cementitious tile adhesive not advised ? Thank you for your time and attention.

Dear I saw your you tube video I am very glad to see I need color paste formula I mean all ratios of color paste with details if you have any athentic information, if you do not have please go to manufacture then you send me all information because I live in Pakistan .

I know only the basic ratios... which I have mentioned in the other comment of this video ( Please Check). For these tiles, ratios are very very important, because wrong ratios of color will create cracks in the tiles. Namaste Sir... Sir as per my knowledge... the ratio is 1 part white cement, 1 part color(Oxide), 1.5 part sand & 3 part grey cement is being used for light colors and for dark color, you need to double the ratio of sand & grey cement. ... BUT I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND....that you should contact a manufacturer of these tile. They will guide you in a better way in all perspective... as I am a designer not the manufacturer. So, it would be great to contact a manufacturer for the right proportion. Hope, this will be helpful for you. Thank You.

@@sajalbauri3645 Its Okay...Agar aap charge to aap apni query English me bhi post kr Sakti hai... no problem with that. To ans your question.... yes you will be in need of white and grey cement both. Otherwise color paste nahi hoga properly. But you need to check the proportion to get the required white color. I hope, this will be helpful.
