I am a young Pakistani engineer .. and I'll tell you exactly why university goers are becoming atheists here. Ever since birth children here are brainwashed with an idea of success that revolves around money and career. And parents put maximum effort and money into making sure their children succeed in careers. This brainwashing starts from childbirth and continues upto 22 years. During this period the child is unexposed to Islam and neither are his curiosities or questions regarding it addressed religion is seen as a mere after thought an indentity not as a purpose of life. And it is primarily due to the complete disregard of parents for religion and their non existent knowledge about it you get generations of atheists ! It's mighty unfortunate.

Eeven if children are exposed to Islam, they are exposed with ad-hoc religiousity of Islam upon a secularised way of life, leading to cognitive dissonance. The power lies on the hands of authority that is not concerned about Islam & ummah, this creates layer of atheism on all worldly aspects of life. Which makes people experience secular way of life as most practical, as they can not relate actual Islamic way of life in the real world apart from ones own faith (in their own isolation), eventually this destroys the certainty of a person.

I recently visited Pakistan after a long absence and met with my middle-aged cousins. Your explanation completely concurrs with my experiences and that was very saddening for me. In fact the most religious amongst them seemed only to aim for '5 pillars in a secular environment' rather than an 'Islamic worldview'. Yet in their worldly aspirations, the sky is the limit.

Unfortunately, Pakistan is a relatively impoverished nations, therefore there's a natural competition for resources. Parents who grow up in a poor environment and the hardships that brings, don't want the same for their children and believe education will ensure their future provision and lead to a comfortable life, there is nothing inheritantly wrong with that. Where they do err is that it usually at the behest of their religion.

As someone who was brought up in a middle class family with this exact worldview of becoming so-called successful person, making this world a priority and not even understanding a single ayah of Quran. I can say it had the most detrimental effect on my wellbeing, my mental and emotional health. Life is so empty without Allah at it's center. Something I wish I had been taught while growing up. I got a degree in medicine. Did that fulfil me? Made me happy and successful? Not even close. I only started breathing when I opened Quran and made an effort to study Seerah, got myself enrolled in Quran classes. I don't blame my parents as they themselves didn't know, we are still colonized in our minds whether we realize it or not. The sooner we decolonize our minds the better. Please parents wake up before it's too late. Instead of giving gadgets to your kids, give them time and a connection with Quran that'll actually make them happy and successful in the long run. Sorry for the long comment. I just connected so much to everything that you said. Quran is truly a shifa for what lies in the chests, if we only understand it.

Eye-opening speech. The reasons you have given for the spread of atheism are spot on. Contradictions in our belief system & practices puts our children in a place of cognitive dissonance eventually making them easy prey to dominant ideological worldviews. It is high time for us to make our understanding & core foundation of Islam strong & teach our children the true essence of it & empower their rational faculties. So, they can be well equipped in confronting the deviant degenerate idologies.

JazakaAllah ❤️❤️❤️ The Call to Prayer I looked at the clock invented by Christian Hagen, it was almost time for prayer. I took out the bike invented by Daimler and Maybach and headed towards the mosque. On reaching there, I drank clean water filtered from the water cooler invented by Halsey Taylor -- and took off the shoes of the Clarks and started ablution. The geyser invented by Benjamin Mogan was providing hot water and there was no problem even in the cold. I then went to the inner gate of the mosque and opened the glass door invented by Robert Howman. Edison's invented light bulb turned on, The mosque was lit by electricity invented by Benjamin Franklin. An AC invented by Willis Carrier was also installed in front, but a heater invented by Charles Baker was on. And the call to prayer was heard on the microphone invented by James West. Loudspeakers invented by Edward Kellogg and Chester Rice made the sound reach all Muslims. I prayed at Made in China Jaye Namaz and raised my hands to pray. "O Allah destroy the disbelievers and grant the Muslims dominion over them ..." Hearing this, the angel sitting on my shoulder burst out laughing.

Hi Ranvir Quran is the unchanged word of god. It is indeed a big claim. I am sure you will agree with me on the principle "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence". The standard Muslim narrative is Qur’an itself is the single most powerful evidence for the truth of Islam. An undeniable miracle beyond human ability. Biggest proof that: “The religion in the sight of God is Islam.” How one is even supposed to assess whether it is a miracle? The proof provided by the Qur’an is the challenge to “Bring something like it.” (i.e. 17:88, 11:13, 10:38, 52:34, 2:23.) The Qur’an insists that failure to meet this challenge means the Qur’an can only be from God. There are several serious problems with this challenge. Firstly it’s not clear what the challenge refers to. Is it Linguistic Eloquence? Well then this is highly subjective. How eloquence is measured, (never mind “miraculous” eloquence,) is a matter of human judgment. Those who claim to be able to make such a judgment are confined to a minority of the human race with expertise in 7th century Arabic and their opinion of what constitutes “miraculous” eloquence. The vast majority of the human race have to take their word for it. Muslims are keen to point out that Islamic sources narrate that the Arabs at the time highly prized linguistic excellence and no one at the time was able to meet the challenge. Now it is absolutely impossible for us to know what exactly happened in Arabia, back then. Earliest sources are books written centuries after the events and that too by faithful Muslims. Any one unbiased person, will definitely not make up his judgement solely by listening to one side. It should also be noted that many Arabs at the time did not consider the Qur’an to be of peerless eloquence and even mocked it - something the Qur’an itself has recorded, The biggest problem with this challenge is, it is simply undoable as it is very subjective. It is impossible for anyone to produce something like an art form created by someone else. No one, not even the masters of Persian language can produce something like Hafiz or Khayyam or no Master of English can produce something like Shakespeare or Milton or Paradise Lost. Every artist has his/her own unique style. Eloquence is highly subjective and it can’t be made the basis for such a big claim as that of Quran’s. Further those who claim to be able to make such a judgment are confined to a minority of the human race with expertise in 7th century Arabic and their opinion of what constitutes “miraculous” eloquence. The vast majority of the human race have to take their word for it. Is this not an argument from Authority? Moreover, anyone who brings ‘something like it’ using the same style and language, will be accused of plagiarism, while if they don’t, they will be accused of failing to bring ‘something like it’. It’s a no win situation! And maybe this is the reason Quraysh chose to ignore it. The great Indian mathematician Ramanaujan, believed that it is a local goddess “Amman” who wrote mathematical equations on his tongue. Will you accept his claim too? Ghalib the great Urdu poet wrote I am sure you don’t accept him as a prophet as well. In fact many Arabs did came with their own verses and some even declared themselves Prophets of a god named Rahman like Musaylma. Further other Arabs, who were more of a practical mindset, like me, asked for some tangible miracle but were refused. Some of them even asked for more like take a ladder and ascend to the heaven. I think all of these were valid demands. Proof should be explicit, objective, verifiable and clear for everyone to see. Some other Quraysh even went to Jews to find out how to check if he really is a prophet (I am talking about the background of Sura Kahaf). I repeat my words, every author has their own unique style and context. It is virtually impossible to replicate any work of art without experts discovering anomalies thus unique style doesn’t equate to miraculousness. Why Arabs failed or they simply chose to ignore the challenge? Is a question we will never be able to know for sure, as all the sources we have today, were compiled by Muslims and that too centuries after. We have nothing to hear from the other side. The other challenge of Quran about finding contradictions is problematic too. No contradictions present in a book does not means it is miraculous or divine. It may be very consistent in its wrong information and worldview. Further the issue of abrogation makes it still difficult to point out contradictions because they can be very easily shoved under the garb of abrogation. Some critics (who have a disease in their hearts according Quran) actually have shown so many contradictions in Quran like, what was created first, Heavens or the Earth? These are the reasons, I don’t buy the standard narrative that Quran is miraculous since Arabs of the time failed to meet its challenge and since there are no contradictions in it. Dear sir/ma’am If you have any evidence which is objectively verifiable and can be crosschecked even today, from any possible angle, please put it forward. Remember "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence"

What a noble task you've taken on Hamza. You see the dangers surrounding our youth. Especially in Pakistan and you've gone in to the deep end. May Allah SWT count your name along with the esteemed scholars in Islam and the warriors. You're doing amazing things. Alot of us can't understand yet but inshaAllah will soon appreciate. Islam isn't a culture. It's a complete way of life at a procedure of earning the pleasure of Allah SWT. If only we all took it a little more seriously inshaAllah.

Hamza you have way too few subscribers brother, if you keep making more of these public talks you'd blow up in no time, people need to hear your wisdom, salam from Bosnia. Also I have one small complaint you could call it, I think it's more precise and fitting to use word "Encourage" instead of "Empower" cause word empower kind of implies that you are giving power to someone which is false in these examples, "encourage" term is far more fitting and less obnoxious IMO, we indeed lack courage cause either too complacent or too cowardly, that has to change and you are leading by example indeed.

Hereby, I humbly put forward my objections to the Idea of ‘life is test’. If life is a test then the question is, what is tested in it? If it is to remain patient and upright in face of life’s adversaries, I have no problem with it. In fact such beliefs help us to survive the rigors of life and give us hope and strength in difficult times. I have no problem with such a test. My problem is with the belief that ultimate test is to live and die as a true Muslim. I have problem with the belief that ultimate success is to accept Quran as final word of god and believe in it without any ‘ifs and but’. This test is problematic. Why? Because it is not fair. Not everyone is starting at the same place. Someone born in a Devout Hindu or Christian family is most likely to live and die as a Hindu or a Christian only. At best he/she will try to become a good Hindu or Christian according to his understanding of his faith. Calling him/her a ‘Kafir’ is shear Ignorance of Human nature. We are what our genes and experiences make of us. Nature and Nurture. Cognitive biases are ingrained in our psyche. Society gives us an ingrained psychological and emotional bias towards the religion in which we are born, rendering us immune, in most cases, to other religions. Exceptions do occur but that is not a rule. If you look around, you will find that most of the people don’t even know that they are in a Quranic test. They are completely unaware of the correct syllabus. Throughout their lives, they toll through a wrong test and all their huff and puff leads them nowhere. In the end they simply fail, because they never knew an examination is going on or what they were supposed to do. Yes the test should be tough and challenging, but at least the examinee should know that he/she is being tested. Any sane minded person will agree with me that an examinee has the right to know 1. The correct, unambiguous, crystal clear syllabus 2. Schedule of examination 3. Rewards of succeeding in it and punishment of failing in it. 4. Parameters on which he/she will be tested. In the Quranic test of life, none of the above matters were clear to the majority of the human race. To make the matters worse it looks like, all the stuff teacher teaching in class contradicts the examinee’s knowledge of the real sensory world. He is supposed to believe in Adam and Eve when evidence shows him a much more complex evolution at work. He is supposed to believe in a book that explicitly talks about flat earth, Moon splitting, Heavens raised, Piece of Heaven falling down, Heavens formed after the Earth, Mountains set firm, Sun and Moon circling around the Earth, Meteors as missiles to shoot away the devils, Two horned man reaching the setting place of the sun, Sun setting in a spring, etc, etc. Further he reads in the same book that one can beat his wife as a last resort if he is afraid of rebellion from her. He also comes across an ayah that permits consummation of marriage with little prepubescent girls. To his horror he found this book allows slavery and sexual relations with female slaves. Though all these verses goes against his basic human moral sense but ‘the test’ requires him to submit to it and believe in it and its stories, otherwise he/she is doomed and will be tortured in horrible hell fire forever and ever. Sorry to say, if such a test is really going on, then indeed IT IS A JOKE. The other logical problem arising out of the ‘Life is test theory’ is • If god is all knowing then do we have free will? • If we have free will and god is testing us then our future is not yet decided and god is not all knowing, hence not omniscient, on the other hand if we don’t have free will then where is the test? Thus to sum it up, I have three major problems with this Quranic injunction of ‘Life is a test’ 1. The test is unfair. Someone born a non-Muslim, in a non-Muslim society is extremely disadvantaged against someone who is born a Muslim. All non-Muslims do not even know that they are in a test and what is the correct syllabus because of various ingrained psychological and emotional biases towards the religion in which they were born, rendering them immune, in most cases, to the one true religion. 2. A test is an exercise done by someone or some agency to check something. Now to check something means that the one who is checking is not sure of the outcome. A test in which outcome is fixed is called a rigged test. So the first and the biggest question arises is Why an-all knowing god need to test anything in the first place? 3. Fair test means, we have free will and outcomes are not fixed. In that case god does not know the final outcome and he is not omniscient. If god is all knowing, then he already knows the outcome and the test becomes fixed and meaningless. I am extremely thankful to you for bearing with me for so long. Thanks and regards.

tldr; God doesn't ask you to believe without any ifs and buts. He has shown his miracles, the most notably being the Quran itself which contains hundreds, if not thousands, of verses related to science. Our destiny is something like this: A loved one will die and how we react will change the outcome. If you react positively, your destiny changes for the better and vice versa. But God already knows the outcome. The best way to check if you have free will or not is to test it. Go ahead do something worse in your life. Your life will change. Go do something that will help the humanity and your life will change too. So it's a fair test. Also if you say that someone was born a hindu and died as hindu is unfair. Then no it's not. They have been given brain. It's impossible for any person to not hear about Islam or monotheism at all. They will be punished for not seeking knowledge and not intending to learn the Truth. As for the one who was born at a time where there was no Prophet and no message reached him then on the day of Judgement, he will definitely be forgiven. ( You can apply the theory of a child passing away before he was able to make decisions on his own, i.e before he was mature . )

jazakAllah khair for this wonderful and much needed lecture. you gave a terrific 'thapar' to the pakistanis. 😁 they need to wake up and realize that the country is no where near Islam. its Islamic teachings and way of life has been long lost. we will blame anyone else for our mistakes. we think we know sooo much more about islam and don't need to learn it. the youth of the nation is involved in shirk, drugs, dancing, clubbing, dating, etc. the parents are more worried about their kids 'A's rather than teaching them any manners. the schools are only interested in taking your money. i have been trying to get my own family and friends on the right track but they just look at me as if i am an extremist or have no standard in life. when you tell the sisters, there is no law that says you have to give 'jahaz' to the groom and his family, they look like i am an idiot that doesn't know the norms. some have even told me, 'no but i have to live in this society! what will the others say?' they are more concerned about what others think of them rather than what Allah has told us to do and obeying His commands. they ask help from peers and soothsayers rather than ask it from our Creator. the youth are following western, korean idols and becoming so called stars on social media but parents don't think there is anything bad about it. the basic knowledge of Islamic values and way of life has been lost. they care about this materialist world more than the next one. lets take 12 rabi-ul-awal. i was shocked to see they have included that 12 rabi-ul-awal as the birthday of our beloved Prophet (S.A.W) and even written in all major islamic school textbooks. that was not the case when i studied, nor when my parents studied. and if you try to say this is not right, the majority will say i am a non-muslim. we have commercialized the 12th of this month more than christmas. people build more luxurious homes than building a mosque or Islamic center. they drive these huge brand cars, eat out like pigs but don't have a small change to give the poor on the side of the road. 😔in short, if pakistanis don't realize that the problem begins at home and they should look at their own self first; how are they going to change this society? they think a single man is going to come and change this nation. no! the change happens from within you. what are you going to teach the youth, the young kids? stop playing victim and blaming others for your know lack of Islamic values. wake-up and take action for your own deeds.

No,in Pakistan it’s the opposite...basically i will link it to feminism....modern western culture which is atheistic and agnostic to the core and only pegged into societal ground thanks to feminism...that’s why women are the fore runner of this atheism...west project them as victim whom are subjected to oppression since the dawn of time coz of male dominance and patriarchy....this victim mindset start that revengeful thought which create mass indoctrination in future generation and youngsters start to held western standard on high horse and start to follow it, only coz of their mothers are highly inspired by it...case in point, communism and capitalism seems far apart but the only intersection you will see in both these ideology is women liberation and empowerment which leads to atheism and depopulation....decades ago Pakistani audience got familiar with indian culture through introduction of cable television which shaped up mind of mothers of that era towards female independence cum vulgarity and mind you india is the flag bearer of western ideology in this south Asian region....these Indian western inspired women breed the new gen of daughters knees deep into feminism and to add fuel to the fires, west, in reality has adopted these young generation of Pakistani women as daughter of their own....just see the female only foreign scholorships in Pakistan since the days of musharaf and you will see that Pakistan is the highest recipient of female only foreign scholorships globally ranging from us aid, commonwealth or daad etc...these scholorships are breeding the new gen of feminist in Pakistan who with the help of other in media or in parliament organize events like aurat march and surkha march and gives expletive to Pakistan, Islam and men openly on social and print media...

Quran is the unchanged word of god.

Alhamdulillah, bro Hamza made good points. However, here is what I am wondering, how could a country that produced people like Israr sb became so barren? How could a country that has 100s of Islamic organisations in each and every city could not address this issue? I can say for sure that after Arabic, Urdu language has produced the most amount of Islamic literature in the world. A country that has given Tafheem and Mariful Quran is looking for Europe for guidence, just unbelieveable. Perhaps it is the inferiority complex that brought this diseases from Europe and now, again it's the inferiority complex that is making people look in the same direction for remedy.

I remember being fined for speaking Urdu instead of English in my primary’s school 😅. Islamic Studies are mandatory, however, and most of these woke folk do snap back into the fold of religion.
