Idk how relevant it is but reminds me of an Alfred Hitchcock quote: Let us suppose that there is a bomb underneath this table between us. Nothing happens, and then all of a sudden, “Boom!” There is an explosion. The public is surprised, but prior to this surprise, it has seen an absolutely ordinary scene, of no special consequence. Now, let us take a suspense situation. The bomb is underneath the table and the public knows it…In these conditions this same innocuous conversation becomes fascinating because the public is participating in the secret.

Because I try to learn and know, better, reality and the nature of things. I've for sure held the mentality of being right, and not questioning if I was sure, or where I heard things. I make sure to look things up before I make claims, and listen to people more sincerely, either considering possibilities rationally, or seeing past insignificant claims. I love debating however, It's a chance to be right, or to stop being wrong. A win-win so long as it's calm.

To me, one of the fascinating things about body "motor skills" is the simple task of walking across a room with a full glass of water. Walking creates many disturbances that would cause the water to slosh out at the top, but your elbow and shoulder cancels out these motions and the water stays in the glass. Another example is when you are carrying a bag suspended below your arm. You can walk and keep the bag mostly stationary below your hand with the same action that keeps the water from spilling in the first example. However if your arm is not free to make these adjustments, the bag will swing back and forth as you walk.

10:14 - I'm autistic and I am surprised every single day by the wild and wacky scenarios allistic people manage to infer from the most simple, non-nuanced, factual response. I'm not surprised that they do it, but my GOD the assumptions are OUT there, sometimes. Unfortunately, you're right - it DOES make it really hard to be around people because that constant negation and gaslighting, of being told that what you thought/ meant/ said actually meant the complete opposite of the words you spoke, and the fear of people getting irritated or annoyed at you for no discernable reason - that stuff can all mess with your head a whole lot. Which is a big part of why autistic people like routines and sameness.

I actually have friends now I found my neurokin, as it were. Thankfully, not all researchers are willing to label us as "broken" allistic people, and some research has been done demonstrating that the communication issues are two-way (even if it all gets laid at the door of the autistic person), termed the "Double Empathy Problem". Then, of course, there are the ones that found autistics were no more likely to go against their morals for money in private than in public (unlike allistic people) but that was somehow a negative because we're too inflexible when it comes to the things we believe...! When I attend a minor league baseball game I can predict fastball, breaking ball, or changeup with a level of accuracy that astounds people I go to the games with. It's because I grew up watching and playing the game, and when I played I was a catcher and I called the pitches. I also impressed the hell out of my ex when I was watching the MLB draft. The way it was formatted they would start showing the highlights of the next player before they would break down the scouting report on the player and I would give my own thoughts on the mechanics of a swing or of a pitcher and the scouting report would match what I said almost word for word. I can't do it with other sports but sometimes all there has to be is a little knowledge of a subject to correctly guess what is going to be said or what will happen next.
