Podcast guest 145 is Dr Graeme O'Connor. He was 27 yrs old when he had his near death experience. During his NDE was instantly transported to a beautiful realm that consisted of light and energy. Here, he learned and understood that all energy was connected. He was visited by four beautiful beams of lights one of which was his best friend who had died months early. He also encountered deceased patients during his near-death experience. On his return journey to his body his consciousness passed through solid matter and he was able to observe in great detail the intricacies of these objects. Graeme didn’t only bring back with him a greater understanding of interconnectedness, he was also given a megadose of compassion and empathy for all living things. The Following months after his NDE (after effects) Graeme was given further proof of life after life.

Also...I was a devout atheist and I actually MET Jesus face to face (no drugs, not an NDE either) and His eyes were indescribable! Like liquid light, completely beautiful, He fully understood me and knew my soul. The second I made eye contact with Him, I knew my soul LOVED Him and always had. I’m definitely not an atheist anymore

Agreed! It is ok to have a book or website though. It does not make us any less genuine. If your an expressive person It’s hard. It to have way to make contact or other forms to connect and communicate because these experiences are so incredible that there is intense energy and often an actual “need” to connect and share. It’s sad to think some people may find books or websites devaluing of our stories.

I've been studying NDE and related topics for the past 14 years and can sincerely say that it has changed my life in such a positive manner. First of all I am no longer afraid of death and I'm sure that we we will be more alive on the other side than on this earthy plane. Your son is well and he's with you always. I mourn the death of my husband who died by suicide but something in my inner being tells me to live and laugh as he'll be celebrating knowing that I am. Of course bad days still occur and I long to be with him but the God within and the connectedness to everyone and everything fills me with such joy at times. Sending you prayers of healing love ❤️🙏

15. SUFFERING & HAPPINESS: DISTINGUISHING SUFFERING FROM PAIN, AND LIKEWISE, HAPPINESS FROM PLEASURE: To understand the nature of suffering, it is ABSOLUTELY imperative to first distinguish suffering from pain (and also, happiness from pleasure). There is a spectrum of pleasure and pain, with an extremely narrow neutral mid-point. Obviously, what constitutes a pleasurable or painful experience is dependent on an individual person’s unique preferences. Not everybody likes the taste of chocolate. The feeling of pleasure/pain does NOT, ultimately, come from any external stimulus, believe it or not. It is located entirely in the mind and/or the intellect. That is the reason why highly-advanced spiritual adepts are able to renounce practically all pleasure-seeking activities, content with consuming simple foodstuffs and adequate sleep, and find continuous peace, happiness, and joy, within themselves (“ātmarāma” or “sva-sthaḥ”, in Sanskrit). Furthermore, the adjudication of whether a certain experience is either pleasurable or painful for a particular person can VARY according to circumstance. For example, one may have enjoyed consuming dairy products as a child, but as a *vegetarian/vegan adult, find the taste of putrefied milk (cream, cheese, yoghurt, butter, etcetera) to be revolting. For one who is literally dying of starvation, the consumption of bitter melon or cactus leaves may seem to be rather pleasing to the senses, even though, in normal circumstances, they may be quite distasteful. *The term “vegetarian” is used literally here (see the footnote to the final chapter of this “Final Instruction Sheet for Humanity”). THE THREE KINDS OF PLEASURE AND PAIN: There are THREE kinds of pleasure/pain: physical, psychological (i.e. mental/emotional/intellectual), and financial. For instance, consuming one’s favourite kind of fruit is physically pleasurable. Being hit on the head by a falling coconut - physical pain. Listening to a favoured piece of music is an example of psycho-emotional pleasure. Being angry at another person - psychological pain. Winning a game of chance (such as a lottery) is an example of financial pleasure. Being robbed of one’s cash or belongings - financial pain. The reason why financial pleasure/pain is not classified under the category of psychological pleasure/pain is because when a person experiences either a loss or a gain in his/her finances, it does not NECESSARILY result in a feeling of pleasure or pain. For example, in 1993, a violent criminal organization, known as the Australian Federal Police, literally stole an enormous sum of cash that I had laboriously collected by conducting alms rounds as a monastic priest. However, upon being informed that my money was to be confiscated by that evil organization, I had absolutely no negative feeling whatsoever. I was perfectly at peace with the situation, something that surprised even myself! However, the loss of my funds was, by definition, painful in the sense that it decimated my bank balance, and I was forced to repeat the months of alms collection, in order to pay my bills and to fund my first pilgrimage to Bhārata (India). So, it was financially painful but not emotionally painful. THE THREE CAUSES OF PLEASURE AND PAIN: There are three origins or CAUSES of pleasure/pain: one’s own body/mind (“adhyātma”, in Sanskrit), other persons/animals (“adhibhūta”, in Sanskrit), and material nature (“adhidaiva”, in Sanskrit). Hopefully, these categories are self-explanatory. Some “suffer” pain from lack of money. Others “suffer” pain from an abundance of wealth. Some “suffer” pain from lack of food. Others “suffer” pain from an abundance of food. The quality of the “suffering” is different but the NATURE of the “suffering” is the same. OBVIOUSLY, in the previous paragraph, the term “suffer” is used in the stead of “experience”, because that is how the word is used in everyday parlance, in order to draw attention to the fact that pain can be due to an abundance of material opulence as well as a lack of material wealth. GENUINE SUFFERING: GENUINE suffering, on the other hand, is the result of mistaking oneself to be the author of one’s thoughts and actions, and other persons to be fully in control of their own thoughts and deeds. There are five forms (or symptoms) of suffering - all PSYCHOLOGICAL in nature: 1. Guilt/Shame 2. Blame/Bitterness 3. Pride/Arrogance 4. Worry/Anxiety 5. Regrets about the past and expectations for the future/Attachment to outcomes (i.e. being inattentive or negligent to the present moment) LIBERATION FROM SUFFERING: Suffering can be COMPLETELY transcended by understanding its origin and consciously avoiding its manifestations. For example, as a child, your mother may have been particularly violent towards you. As clearly demonstrated in the chapter dealing with free-will, her violence was wholly due to her genetics and societal conditioning, neither of which were under her control. Blaming your mother for her actions leads to psychological anguish, which can only be cured by focusing on the undeniable sense of “I am”. In other words, by resorting to one’s essential nature (knowing one’s innermost being to be Pure Consciousness, identical with the entirety of existence), one is emancipated from all sorrow. The initial feeling of anger towards your mother was a natural reaction to her violence, but the enduring resentment is existential misery. Any physical pain you may have experienced was just that - pain. That pain is not to be discounted, but it has probably faded-away into the distant past. The psychological distress or torment that you are currently experiencing is the ACTUAL suffering, and it can easily be negated by a proper attitude to life. When we contemplate painful past events (or possible future events) those thoughts occur, ostensively, in the present. It is simply not possible to experience the past or future - only the present moment and the thoughts and feelings of the present are experienced. Therefore, it is important to understand and acknowledge that suffering occurs solely in the present and that it can be cured with mindful practices. It is beneficial to also consult a qualified psychotherapist on a regular basis, in order to slowly heal from such mental angst. When a man kicks his pet dog, the dog does not spend the remaining years of its life being angry or resentful towards its master. Dogs have very little concept of past, present and future, but live their lives from moment to moment. How unfortunate it is that all other species of animals (with the possible exception of the very highest mammals, such as primates, and cetaceans such as dolphins and whales) are naturally more at peace with their circumstances than we highly-evolved human beings! Even if several of the more advanced species of mammals experience some of the five forms of psychological suffering, it does not seem to PERSIST in the same way as it does for human beings. For example, I have met individuals who, after more than half a century, still have repressed bitterness and/or anger towards their parents, due to events in their childhood. In one case, an elderly woman who had an unsatisfactory relationship with her father during her childhood and adolescence, regularly evokes resentful thoughts in her mind on an almost-daily basis, despite the passing of about six decades! Unfortunately, when I tried to explain to her the process by which she can become liberated from such mental anguish, she exhibited disinterest, sad to say. REGARDING FREE-WILL: On a rather personal note, even before I fully grasped this teaching (and when I was a Theist), I sent the following message to my second ex-wife, which illustrates my understanding of her actions: “I want to assure you that I have absolutely no bitterness towards you WHATSOEVER for persecuting me. You are simply carrying-out the orders of your perverted, ignorant mind, and I pray that my Master forgives all your wicked thoughts and acts. My own heart is completely free of anger. I pity you and look forward to the day when you finally turn from sin.” However, it took me a number of years before I fully realized that this concept (that a person’s behaviour was simply the product of their mental state and that one can never controvert their current psychological nature) was a demonstrable scientific fact. This came about by diligently studying the scientific system of religion known as “gnosticism” (“jñāna yoga”, in Sanskrit) described in the next chapter of "F.I.S.H". When one fully imbibes the understanding that life is completely and utterly preordained, and that no living creature has individual free-will (see Chapter 11), one has no choice BUT to quit blaming, shaming, worrying, being prideful, and being attached to the results of one’s actions. Deep peace and happiness arises naturally as a consequence. Obviously, the understanding of the non-existence of personal freedom (as well as all the other concepts in this Holy Scripture) are also the result of destiny. The unfortunate fact is, even though unqualified peace is available to everyone, particularly in the current age (due to mass communication), very very few human beings are destined for it.

This doctor has more abilities than he is willing to admit too, probably due to his analytical mind. But, I noticed orbs and anomalies behind him the entire video. The anomalies were mostly over his right shoulder, but there were shiny orbs, shadows, and floating anomalies behind him the entire video. He is definitely gifted, and I can see his friend and spirit guides are with him always. He has a beautiful spirit. I, myself, had a very similar experience as this doctor and brought home the same values and view points. The light told me without words... "You humans make things too complicated, but it is truly very simple. Love.... Learn to love others. Teach others how to love and learn to love yourself. That's it." Great interview

I do think that I have an explanation why we are here on earth and why we need to suffer. In the heavenly realm isn't any negativity. It's only love and joy. A perfect place to be, but not to grow as a being. Here on earth when confronted with suffering we start working on ourselves. We learn how to adapt to a new situation. By suffering we get compassionate for other people, because we understand their suffering. We get more love and understanding for people and be less judgemental to others. We grow as a spirit. By suffering we grow.

Jesus was NOT born perfect, as He readily admits: Luke 13:32 “And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day *I SHALL BE PERFECTED.* Ephesians 4:12 Heb 12:23 Heb 11:40 Hebrews 2:10 states: For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation (Jesus) *perfect THROUGH SUFFERINGS.* Says right there that God made Jesus perfected through suffering. In Hebrews 5:8-9 8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; 9 And being *made perfect,* he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Jesus learned obedience by the things He suffered and was perfected through it. Made Perfect: Thayers Greek Lexicon: to complete (perfect), i. e. add what is yet lacking in order to render a thing full: to bring one's character to perfection: We must also suffer, just like Jesus, to inherit the Kingdom of God: Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; *if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together* 2 Timothy 2:12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us: Philippians 1:29 “For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;” 2 Corinthians 1:6 And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation We are perfected through suffering. We are here to EXPERIENCE everything there is to learn about EVIL & SUFFERING. We cannot learn ALL there is to know in one lifetime. We must experience EVIL with NO TECHNOLOGY as well as HIGH TECHNOLOGY, to learn that everything can be used for good and evil.

He had had a very stressful week of 3 children dying on top of the loss of his friend. If using a drug is a problem for your employment, then alcohol should be included. His admission speaks well of him and I would think he learned his lesson. Though I wouldn't be surprised by them giving him a problem because being embarrassed is much worse in their minds than losing a good, caring doctor.

I wanted to comment about what Dr O'Connor said (and others have said) about the comparison between here on Earth and the other side. How Earth feels like a dream-like state and the other side feels very real? I think I know what they're talking about. I've never had an NDE but I recently had the beginning, I believe, of an OBE. It was unintentional. I was struggling to get back to sleep one early morning. I usually feel myself drifting back to sleep....but this time, I went from being awake with my eyes closed....to.....my mind's eye opening and looking out to a universe. In the middle of it was like an orange portal that was pulsating around the edges. I felt like I was floating closer to it. There was also a loud rumbling sound (I'm deaf without my cochlear implant sound processor on! heh) and I could feel the pressure from the sound on my face. But what I really noticed was that it didn't feel like a dream....everything looked like it was in very very high-definition. So crystal clear and beautiful! I started to panic and that was when I came out of it. It wasn't like waking from a dream, though. Everything just slowly went dark and I calmly opened my eyes. I was thinking "What the Hell was that?! haha This happened in January and is still very clear in my mind. The colors were beautiful and it felt very real. ..................Steph :)

I always wanted to know what unconditional love was, so every night I would ask if I could feel what this was like before I went to sleep. I kept doing this in hopes that god or the universe or my spirit guide would let have the privilege of feeling this in this world, and one morning I woke up with this love I have never felt from anyone, you could have beat me to a pulp and I would have still love you, funny at the time my wife and I were fighting, not getting along she was angry with me but it just didn't upset me at all,I forgave everything,it was the most incredible feeling, it was like liquid love and I didn't want it to go away ever, but unfortunately it only lasted about 5 hours, I wish I could live with this love forever, but I know it will be there when I die, there's no feeling like it, peace.

What a lovely guy, someone that you would listen to with great interest. Spot on with Reiki I've experienced that energy from someone. Great interview.

During this interview I had seen a few times that I believe what I saw were orbs and I definitely saw the one that he had seen when he had asked himself "what was that?" and then he asked the community if we had seen that, and yes I definitely did!

Have you not noticed, sooo many people are coming out and sharing their experiences, which means the world will be a wonderful place... I’m sure people were having the same experiences long ago, (100, 200, ... years ago) but if they spoke about it then they would burn you alive

I agree but do feel there is a spiritual awakening happening which is helping our spiritual evolution. I've listened to 100's of nde experiences and some older people that had them many years ago were told by family and their doctors not to discuss. Thank goodness we've moved on enough for these folk not to be certified insane! The church/organised religion has a lot to answer for in this respect
