@@sarahhurst701 the situation with Medusa was a case of hubris, not victim blaming Now to be fair, there are myths of Athena punishing women for dumb reasons or not even a reason Pseudo-Apollodorus, Bibliotheca 2. 46 (trans. Good story! Consider this Viewpoint for what its worth: She did chastise Arachnid harshly, but did not touch her or destroy her weaving. She used the girls own fears to entrap and change her own physical self with words and thoughts. Same with Medusa, who actually invited Poseidon into the temple and was not raped at all but called it "love" and had no remorse. Her hair being her pride and joy, was used against herself with words and ideas, her own bad intentions turning against herself, which is something we all do to ourselves if not ethical. Similar to a person who commits a crime, changes their demeanor and becomes ill afterwards. More dramatic in those days. Athena did not want to be worshipped. She usually disguised herself to go out and meet citizens, to find out what was really happening in life, because if she was recognized, they would not be truthful with her and would act different. This is how she found out who could be trusted. It was always the citizens except for Perseus and her loyal army. Strategic warfare was always successful therefore. It all ended when she did not heed warnings from scouts that a large hostile army was surrounding Athens, that slaughtered everyone in the city who did not hide, took all historical volumes and statues and artifacts, brought them to Rome, changed the names, and made it a crime to mention Athens for generations, effectively stopping communications and altering history. But Athena lives on in the magic of Athens. She never forgot her city. It was only a lapse over time.

Athena is my favorite of the Greek Gods/Goddesses. A couple of years ago, I drew up my own rendition of the Goddess of Wisdom. The drawing would eventually be adapted as the thumbnail/title card for the Daniel Vain made "audio-only" video called "The DJ Business - pt. 1: Spinning Hip-Hop/Rap" which is on KZbin if anyone is curious to see the afore mentioned drawn image of Athena. One other thing I'd like to mention about Athena, that being the parallels between her and the Star Wars Universes' "The Sister" aka, the embodiment of the lightside of the Force. Both have violent-warfare favoring brothers, both chose wisdom before physical conflict, and both have an owl (or owl-like creature) as a representation/symbol for themself.

I grew up in the jungle of Panama and my mom was a elite German. TV was over a year behind in Panama and my mom wouldn't let me watch American TV. When we moved to America, same thing. My mom wouldn't let me watch American TV or movies until I was 10 years old. I died when I was 7, drowned by my mom in a swimming pool. What I saw when I went to heaven, I had never seen before. I didn't learn about silver hair women and red hair giants until I was 26 years old. So I shouldn't have known about them. So what I seen was not a fabrication of stuff I seen before. I stood next to my dead body and watched my dad try to save me. He didn't do it. I was gone for over 30+ minutes. Probably a hour before he found me. I was straight up a ghost 👻 he asked God 3 times to save me. Well screamed God 3 times. ❤ Each time I heard thunder. Each time it got louder. I climbed the dark mountain 🏔️ when I was in heaven. I was going to see someone on the top. God Bless 🙏

@Passions55553 ай бұрын
@jamieserrano827 I don't disagree. However, there is some context involving Roman propaganda of how much better they were than the Greeks that influenced the Roman version of the Medusa story that paints Athena in a distinctly bad light. The greek version of the myth depicted Medusa always being a gorgon and not a temple priestess. Some Greek versions had Medusa having a consensual lovers tryst with Poisiden. It wasn't until the Roman version that depicted Medusa as an SA victim. I am not saying that Athena is above, which is petty and malicious. Look at the myth of Archnie where she is straight-up salty that she is better, a weaving than her, and destroys her tapestry. So I am not saying that it's not in Athena's nature to be cruel and spiteful. But it is worth acknowledging that the Roman version of Medusa had an agenda behind it to the Greek version of Athena in a bad light.
