There's straight up an episode where a teacher attempts suicide on-screen. Having a fangirl moment for my Invader Zim request being on screen 😁 Also I totally respect your opinion on that special. I like it, but the Christmas one is a little more memorable for me. My favorite Halloween Special is "The Halloween that Almost Wasn't", where Dracula and the Queen of the Witches have a power struggle, and she threatens to quit, and thereby cancel Halloween forever if she's not given equal authority and merchandise revenue as Dracula. It is just so silly, and Judd Hirsch as Dracula is just conceptually hilarious.

Invader Zim is just like that. There's an episode where Zim turns Dib into bologna, and there's an episode where the worst thing in the world is just a blank room with a moose. It's very 2000s 'randem xD' at times but it's also weirdly freaky at times (looking at you, dark harvest) and I love it, but if you don't, I get it.

Personally, I kinda liked the laid back nature of the first Scary Godmother- when it focused on Hannah and her getting to know the monsters. It felt like A Muppet Family Christmas meets Hotel Transylvania. When it focused on the other kids, it was kinda boring, with too many Family Guy "a joke goes on for a minute" moments. But I do love hiw the stakes are a lot higher this time around, as it makes sense for a sequel.

As a HUGE invader zim fan, it's totally fine not to get it. It's definitely something that's hard to get into espeically if the obsession didn't start when you were young. I will say that the newer stuff is better, like the movie and the comics. The show is more of an... acquired taste, but I adore it and it's humor so much.

Allow me to explain since I know…. I think everything about invader zim? So, in the beginning how Dib started getting the visions of the “spooky realm” as I’ll call it, was when he was looking through prof. Membrane’s alternate reality viewer with the power all the was up, (the spooky realm is basically just an alternate universe where everything is all spooky, etc.) but since he used full power, the vision become permanent, getting longer each time, and less like visions, and more like he was temporarily getting transported to that reality. Meanwhile Zims whole side thing is that he hates Halloween because he thinks all the children will turn into zombies because of a joke Mrs. Bitters make earlier, ha ha Zim is dumb etc. Later we realize that the spooky realm exists entirely inside Dibs head, and they want to escape to the real world for evil reasons. Most of it is pretty self explanatory if you’ve seen it a thousand times like I have, lol. But basically at the end the monsters come out of Dib head, see how gross earth is, and just go back.
