Mate you couldn't have got a better bike. That thing hits the sweet spot right between value for money and reliable functionality. You didn't say a lot but i feel I heard a little Roo or Kiwi in there. Thanks for the video, well worth your effort.

Maximum respect man ! I recently completed a 2600 km trip from Amsterdam to Barcelona. I was also alone. I camped wild and though it was illegal I encountered no problems. The trick is to camp late at night under the cover of darkness and to be got at first light. The idea of first going somewhere by train or plane and cycling back home is something I'd never thought of. Thanks to you it's something I would consider doing in future. You're an inspiration. Ride on. You're a certain breed of Englishman, tenacious, unassuming and probably self-deprecating. Asked how the trip went you'd probably just say ''OK''.

In fairness, he's also using Decathlon panniers. It's a bit of a mix but yeah, the GPS/SatNav thing can't have been too cheap and the Alpine bit in particular would necessitate some quality equipment/clothing I would have thought. I would have liked to have seen more camping/accommodation bits, an equipment/clothing list and a map/route/time breakdown. It's a really nice vid, a great achievement and is definitely inspiring. I want more details though :-).

Hey Jimmy I saw this vid couple years ago as I was considering bike camping in Europe. I loved your vibe and how u just bought the bike/gear in Greece then went off. Inspired me and I ended up riding from SF to Portland Oregon, flew to Rome and then to Greece and all the coast north to Trieste. Gave my bike away and flew home with a small pannier and nothing else. Was great. Getting ready for another adventure but this time via a Vespa. Best, Marc

Your videography is stunning and sights spectacular but you also capture that part of long distance biking that is all about getting food, water and rest!
