The inaugural Women in Athlete Development Symposium brought together some of the nation's leading women industry experts to discuss the history, evolution, current and future state of athlete development.
Drs. Marissa Nichols (Boston University) and Michael Sagas (University of Florida) presented on the origin, purpose, and implementation of the Athlete Development Model Curriculum and measuring outcomes. Athlete development research, specifically within the collegiate athletics setting, was also discussed.
The event was hosted at the University of Central Florida by Dr. C. Keith Harrison (Associate Unit Head/Devos Chef Academic Officer and Associate Professor), Dr. Janice L. Hilliard (President & CEO, Hilliard Creative Education & Development Solutions, LLC), Kevin Carr (Founder, CEO & Principal of Pro2CEO and Adjunct Faculty for Devos and instructor of the Graduate Diversity Sport Course) and Kim Durand (Senior Associate Athletic Director for Student Development at the University of Washington).
