Bubka cleared 6 meters about 40 times actually. This is backed by the commentator at the 1997 World Championships near the end of his career claiming that Bubka has cleared 6m "some 35 times" and also a conversation I had with Jeff Hartwig myself.

the world record is 6.15 indoors and 6.14 out doors, bubka had the olympic record in 88 at 5.90, that was broken in 96 at 5.92, that was broken in 04 by tim mack of the us at 5.95 and hooker breakes it here at 5.96
