Just past my TEAS test 2 weeks ago and got accepted into my school's nursing program! I start this fall! So excited. Focus on the science portion. It is honestly the hardest part. Lots of biology questions that you NEED to know the answer to.

V Massillon if you google search "practice TEAS test questions" you can find many sites that have practice tests you can take with very possible questions that may or could be asked on the TEAS test. There's some that will even tell you the answer if you get it wrong and why you got it wrong. Focus on science the most. The science portion is stuff you need to know rather than a math problem where there are different ways of figuring out the answer. I would also take your time on the reading, this one was my highest score . I got a 90% on that part. The excerpts aren't too long either . Just make sure you read everything !!! Grammar was a little difficult for me because there was old grammar rules I had to remember from back in middle school like what an antecedent was, or subject verb agreement, participles , REVIEW THESE!!!!!!

Update: I passed 97th percentile math, 93rd science, 83rd English and 67 reading 🙏💕 I was given 4 days to study 😭 I was going for radiology tech and just changed my major to nursing Friday, called my school and she told me to be there Monday to take my TEAS .. I have studied for HESI but not TEAS .. im freaking out 😭😬

I studied for two weeks for 12 hours a day. I did not study science and I took my anatomy class three years ago and my physio class two years ago. I scored 89% in science. I studied Reading/ English and I only scored 74% on Reading and 54% in English. The reading was the hardest part; all I learned in college English was how to write papers.

Sarah, once again you have hit the nail on the head concerning the entrance exams for nursing. I applied last month to a nursing program and they require the HESI A2 entrance exam. However, the TEAS V, HESI A2, and the PAX are all along the same line of testing. The required parts for the HESI A2 were anatomy, biology, reading, English, math, and vocabulary. Each section ranging 33-50 questions each. I utilized the same study tips, resources for that particular test, and prepared at least 2 months (studying every or every other day). The required score was 70% I made an 86.33% I am so excited about my score. I am totally agreement concerning this is the major factor upon getting into nursing school; along with the importance of the anatomy lecture and lab grades. Thanks for anyone having to take any of these entrance exams...your tips are tried and the results are VERY solid and true!!!

Personally, if it were me I would take A & P first and then TEAS. However, if you feel confident in A&P then you can take TEAS first. It really depends on your preference.

I'm planning on taking the TEAS 6 test soon and I was just looking at the materials on amazon. A lot of reviews say that the ATI manual made for the TEAS 6 has a lot of errors! Would you recommend the 5th old version instead of the 6th edition? Also, if I buy the ATI TEAS secret study guide do you still recommend me buying the online practice tests from ATI? Are there any practice exams on the secret study guide for TEAS 6 test? I just want to get the most affordable option and not buy every single thing even though I don't need it you know? Hi Hannah :) I know they just released the TEAS 6 book in January, and I do see that the most recent reviews say it has some errors (with incorrect answers mainly in the math section). I seen that someone in one of the reviews said that they have the corrections on the ATI website so they are aware of the errors and tried to fix it. ATI will switch versions of the test after August 31st....so if you're taking it before then the 5th edition will be sufficient enough, but after the 31st I would go with the 6th edition. I do recommend getting the online practice tests, if you choose to go with ATI rather than the secrets study guide, because it will help you study and see how the test will be set-up. I would take the practice test before you start reading the book and see how well you performed and what were the areas you struggled in. Then after you read the book and practice the questions in it, I would re-take the practice test again. I think you can only take them twice (there are two versions). Many people who've passed the TEAS used the study guide and the online practice tests together (sometimes the ATI website is cheaper if you buy the study guide and practice test together as a bundle than buying them separately from Amazon and then the ATI's website...but price check that). However, the secrets study guide for TEAS 6 is great too, but you don't need both resources. Yes, the secrets study guide for TEAS comes with 3 practice tests and review material. However, again if you are taking the exam before the 31st of August you need the secrets study guide for TEAS 5 instead of the 6th. It also may be a little cheaper than the ATI TEAS book and online practice tests if you buy it off Amazon. Bottom line both are great resources but just choose one, especially if you're on a budget. Also, give yourself enough time to study and develop a study plan that works for you. I hope that helps, and I wish you the best on the exam :) P.S. I've just contacted with them & according to the representative, they no longer have the previous edition for sale so they encourage us to get the newest one which is 6th edition. When I tried to ask about the quality of the book's content, it seems like they did not want to mention about those negative reviews :-(. In my opinion, the 5th edition is not expensive (around $20 on Amazon), so I'll try to take a look at both editions to learn about the materials. Hopefully i won't be overwhelmed 😂

+missb19822010 Excellent question! Many people have this issue because many nursing schools require different entrance exams. Some people say the TEAS is harder than PAX....while other say the opposite. I think the science on the TEAS is what people have issues with, so with that being said, just to be safe I would get the TEAS study guide and brush-up and take the online practice tests. Chances are since you did great on the PAX, you should on the TEAS but I would still study the TEAS manual. I hope that helps and again great question (I'm sure other viewers will have the same question).

Klaudia, I am scheduled to take to the TEAS exam next month and just turned 36. I set aside 2 months to focus on studying. The first month I dedicated my time at reading the material and the second month I have been focusing applying the information I just reviewed. My husband is an Orthopedic and recommended I break my studying according to how the exam is weighted (Science- 40 mins, Math- 40 mins, Reading- 30 mins, and English- 20-30 mins). I place a timer and once same goes off I take a small break and continue to the next session. For informational purposes the primary age group within most Accelerated Nursing programs is between mid 20s-30s. The last time I took Anatomy was about 12 years ago. Once you start studying you will realize that you have retained far more than you thought. Good luck, and I would recommend in giving yourself the opportunity and pursue the Nursing field if that has been your goal. Just become familiar with how the testing standards identified by the school you plan on applying to. Some schools only accept the first testing score received within the application period.

+Faith Great question! Does your teacher upload powerpoints so you can print them before class? If so, prior to class (so on Mondays and Wednesdays...since your class is Tuesdays and Thursdays) I would skim the sections that are covered in the powerpoints and just read those areas the day before class. It is impossible to read a whole chapter word-by-word and understand it (the brain can only process so much material). If your teacher doesn't upload powerpoints, I would skim the chapter and pay attention to the objectives (which is listed at the being of the chapter) and read those sections. Then at the end read the chapter summary. Also, pay attention to charts and diagrams. Try skim the chapter prior to class so you know what the teacher is talking about in class and this will help with note taking (because you will know what is important to write down since you have already reviewed it). I hope that helps :)

Thank you for your reply, I hope your 4th of July was great too :) I contacted ATI and was told by a customer representative that there are different online practice assessments pertaining to the different versions of the tests. Exams taken prior to August 31, 2016 correspond to the "TEAS V Online Practice Assessment Package" and exams taken on or after August 31, 2016 correspond to the "ATI TEAS Online Practice Assessment Package". Both are available and can only be purchased via the ATI online store.

It varies because every nursing program is different. For instances, some programs want you to score 80% overall...while some want you to score at least an 80% in math, science, English etc. So, I would say scoring an 80% would be great/ideal. I wish you the best taking the exam :)

If they required you score a certain score in the science part and you didn't...you may have to retake the whole exam, including the science section. Hey, Cari. I'd recommend buying the guide that matches the exam you have to take for your school. For example, if you have to take the TEAS, I'd get the TEAS manual. If you have to take HESI, then I'd recommend the HESI study guide. I hope that helps!

Cari I am scheduled to take the exam next month. I purchased both the ATI Testing Study bundle and the Kaplan study guide. I have been breaking up my studies between both books (reading material), however prioritizing more of my time on the ATI manuals. However, the ATI Teas SmartPrep online is great! It breaks up each module in detail. Once you take your practice assessment the student is given a personalized study plan. Each lesson includes quizzes and practice problems.

Hello :) Just try to do the best you can with studying for it, you can get a lot done in 10 days...it is hard trying to study for finals and then prepping for TEAS. I would try to study the areas you know you are already weak in and find free practice quizzes online...there are a lot of them if you just google it. I am having a hard time passing 😔 I have studied and studied but I think I may have crammed the second time the first time I just took it which was dumb. I don't think the teas is as in depth as I need any suggestions? I plan on giving myself 6 weeks or more for my last time and maybe a tutor.

Hi Troyesha :) I'm sorry to hear about your struggle, but hang in there. Many great nurses have had trouble with the exam and have went on to be great nurses. Standardized testing don't gauge how smart you are, so don't feel like your not smart enough. I highly suggest getting the books I recommended in the video and read and practice the questions in the book in the areas you have struggled (also look online and find free quizzes....the more you practice questions the better). For instances, if math was your worst subject read this section in depth in the book and practice the math questions. We have an ATI math series along with free math quizzes (link to the quizzes are in the video's description) to help you study...if you're interested: kzbin.info/aero/PLQrdx7rRsKfWnPnl4lCewiz8TLtUMoNwL I would definitely give yourself a lot of time to study and try to study at least 1-2 hours everyday until the test day.
