Thanks for posting guys. My dad was born on Atiu decades ago. Sent to NZ as a teen & never made it back to the islands again. My wife & I had our first trip to Raro 5 years ago unfortunately we never visited Atiu, planned for next time. We brought Atiu coffee in Raro.

My island home aka Enuamanu 🥺 I can’t wait to go back.. thank you for sharing 💙🙏🏽

I'm guessing that Enuamanu means "land of the birds." Enua being the island and manu being the bird. See, I've been to the Cooks a number of times, so I'm a papaa who's able to extrapolate various Rarotongan words.

Hard to believe I visited Atiu in 1998. I fell in love with Atiu coffee. Visited the coffee factory and the caves to see the Kopeka bird. I stayed at the same Atiu Villas. So dark at night I could not see a thing. Glad you had a great time. I did. Cheers.

I've been to Rarotonga several times and even went to Aitutaki and its mystically colorful lagoon. But one Cook Island I would love to visit at some point is Atiu; it seems like such a peaceful, very unique island, the more I hear about Atiu the more interesting it gets to me! I know Atiu has excellent coffee because I've had plenty of it in Raro.

We would definitely recommend visiting! I think you describe it well as peaceful and unique 😊

@@AwaywiththeSteiners I've also never been to a "makatea" type island before so I'm sure it would be a very geologically different experience from what I'm used to.
