Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport boasts being the main hub for Delta Airlines. Due to the significant presence of this airline, particularly for domestic flights, one entire side of the domestic terminal is dedicated to Delta customers. This video is a walkthrough of checking in for a domestic Delta flight from Atlanta to Denver and getting to the gate.

I came back here to say this: I was so nervous about taking my first flight. I watched this video as I was flying Delta out of Atlanta airport. I literally wrote down step by step everything you did, and I navigated with no problem at all! The flight was amazing, and your video helped me more than you could no. A million thank yous!!

I gotta say, this video has calmed my nerves ten fold! I have never flown before and am going on my first trip on Saturday. I'm not really nervous about the actual flight as opposed to just getting there on time and at my gate. My flight is at 8 in the morning so I'm going to have to be up early. I was wondering though, when I first go in, I don't have to meet with an actual person to check in right? I just go to the kiosk or use my phone to check in, and then print the boarding pass at the kiosk? Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated. Loved the video and subscribed!

I'm glad the video was helpful. As far as checking in, if you only have carry-on luggage you don't have to speak with anyone. Just check in at the kiosk, print your boarding pass and head to security. If you have a checked bag you do have to interact with an agent to drop of your checked bag. With Delta, you actually don't have to check in at the kiosk or print a boarding pass if you have the Delta app and only have a carry-on. You can check in via the Delta app and it generates an electronic boarding pass with a QR code on it to scan when boarding. If you fall into the category you just check in via the app and head straight to the TSA security checkpoint with your carry-on. Thanks for the comment and the sub!

I love to hear that this calmed you! (My son and) I have been through the ATL airport a myriad times but in a few days, he will have to navigate the airport alone from our layover gate to baggage claim alone, as I will be continuing home and he will be staying & meeting his grandfather at baggage claim - esp since my layover is so short, I won’t have time to walk him there. I figured that since he’s always watching KZbin and TikTok and what not, I’d see if I could find an “ATL walk through” in addition to the actual map, because as I’ve told him -- it’s all good now but wait til you’re by yourself without mom navigating the train and a massive airport, lol. I have faith though…. And FaceTime, hahahahah. But thanks, OP… great video.

I need to fly in Atlanta as a connection, and I decided to look it up after hearing how complicated it is. I am half blind and can't see too well unless I bring $1,100ish worth of corrective equipment (which I am not risking bringing on a trip) and watched this to see how simple/complex the journey would be. This video has inspired me to, for the first time ever, actually request that "assistance getting through the airport" they have for persons with low vision.

No need to be scared. If you watch the video again pay particular attention to the overhead signs. All major airports, ATL included, have excellent directional signs that help first timers or people who have never been to a particular airport before. If you check out my other video from January 2021 called “Walk-through from TSA security at ATL international terminal to Concourse E using the plane train” the first minute or so is spent talking about the general layout of the terminal and gates at ATL. If your flight is domestic (solely inside the US) the rest or the video won’t apply to you but the first minute has a useful diagram you can use to get an idea of the layout. Thanks for the comment and I hope you have a good trip!

Connecting through Atlanta is super easy (if its all with the same airline and same reservation). In that case you are really only traveling from one gate to another without having to deal with security or checking in. If your arrival gate and the gate you are departing from on your second flight are located in the same concourse its just a matter of walking a short distance. If they are in different Concourses then just just ride the plane train to the appropriate concourse and find the gate. I hope you have a good trip!

Had a connecting flight to YYZ with Delta here yesterday. I was misinformed at my arrival gate about whether I need to go to baggage claim before I board my next flight. I waited at the domestic carousel for over an hour for nothing and had to go through TSA again. All things considered I was able to make the gate for my next flight. You'll need at least 3 hours if you want to connect at this airport without fuss and any surprises Idk what the other terminals are like, but concourse D is in dire need of remodeling. The ventilation seems pretty poor for an airport that's this busy. Charger ports in the waiting chairs don't work and the water fountains are busted
@bozy106
@bozy106 6 ай бұрын
Concourse D is actually in the process of being remodeled and roughly half of the gates are closed/blocked off. Check out the video I just published today to see a walkthrough of the complete concourse along with info on what’s being redone and widened. Concourse D is the narrowest of all at ATL. The others are in fairly decent shape.

There were Clear kiosks as well as about 2 or 3 TSA lanes. It appears that the entrance is manned by an airport employee so it wouldn’t hurt to try it - the worst they can say is “No”. Good videos.I searched this airport for videos and came across your channel.I have a flight from Tampa to madrid in December.How is the transfer from domestic to international terminals ? How much time do I need to connect ? Thanks.Hope you can answer this.
@bozy106
@bozy106 2 жыл бұрын
Well, if you are flying from Tampa to Madrid with a connection in ATL, the connection is very simple (as long as it is through a single airline/reservation and your bags will be checked through to Madrid). Once you land from your Tampa - Atlanta leg, you should just be able to board the Plane Train and go directly to Concourse F (or Concourse E) from whatever concourse you land at. Some international flights leave from Concourse E and some from Concourse F. This is possible because if your bags are "checked through" to Madrid, you will not have to exit the secure part (airside) of the airport and will not have to go through TSA Security again. Check out my videos on transferring from Concourse to Concourse.

Hi I’m a teen traveling to Michigan by myself Monday any tips ? Kinda nervous (and it’s my first flight)
@bozy106
@bozy106 3 жыл бұрын
Tips for ATL: 1. Get to the airport about 2 hours early (perhaps a little earlier Monday because ATL is expected to be a little busier during this Spring Break). 2. Be aware that if it says that your flight is at a particular time, that the flight actually begins boarding around 30 minutes before this time and aims to take off at the listed time. If you get to the gate right at the flight time, its almost certain the plane doors are closed and the plane has already left the gate. 3. Just watch the people in front of you are doing, particular going into TSA security. The TSA officers will be giving directions but watching others who are ahead of you will give you an idea of how to do it. 4. Check with the TSA website about the 3-1-1 liquid rule at www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/liquids-rule so you know what liquids can be in your carry-on luggage that you carry through the TSA checkpoint. There are plenty of places on the other side of security to purchase a bottled drink so don’t worry about flying thirsty. 5. Most importantly, PAY ATTENTION TO THE OVERHEAD SIGNS, because they are the most helpful directional aids you will have. 6. Don’t be scared of the Plane Train between concourses. It doesn’t leave the airport but just runs between the concourses and it has nice loud announcements about where it is and where its going.

Like where did you walk in at? I know Delta is south terminal correct?
@bozy106
@bozy106 3 жыл бұрын
Delta is indeed in the South Terminal and all other domestic airlines in the North Terminal with their respective kiosks in their respective terminals. The beauty of ATL is that no matter which side you walk into (north or south) you are just a few steps away from easily getting to the other side. This is because even though they sound like separate structures, it is really just different sides of one big building. In my ATL baggage claim video which can be found here kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6bKantnerCNqNU you will see that I collect my baggage from the South Terminal baggage claim and walk across to exit out of the North Terminal. This begins around the 12 minute mark on the video. You will see how connected the two terminals are. If you accidentally walk in on the wrong side and your airline is on the other side, at most it has only added maybe 2 minutes onto your walk.

@bozy106
@bozy106 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, there are parking options (on airport property) that are close to the South Terminal which is where Delta operates. These lots are the South Hourly, South Daily, and South Economy lots. Of course the cheapest option is the economy lot. The ATL airport's website list the parking rates, lot status, and lot maps that are updated in every few minutes. The airport's parking website is apps.atl.com/Passenger/Parking/Default.aspx I would also consider off-site parking such as TheParkingSpot or WallyPark. They will pull you and your luggage right up to the terminal door so you don't have to lug it across a parking lot. I've done a video on how to use TheParkingSpot off-site parking. It's a bit cheaper than on-site parking if you are trying to save some money.

If you don't have to claim and re-check your bags it shouldn't take more than a few minutes. Typically if you are flying into ATL on a domestic flight that originated in the U.S. and then have a connecting international flight with the same airline & on the same reservation then your bags will be "checked through" to the final destination. This will mean that you don't have to go to baggage claim, security, etc, but are just changing gates/concourses within the secured "airside" portion of the airport. In this case you would typically use the "Plane Train" to move between concourses as I demonstrate in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rp2Tq3yde55mi68 Hopefully this answers your question...
